Google Maps users can now report accidents, speed traps through latest update

The feature is rolling out globally to all users of Google Maps and has now gone official after months of testing. The feature can be accessed through a new button which will be available when navigation through the map. The button takes the shape of a messaging icon with a ‘+’ sign inside it.

Gboard for iOS Finally Receives Instant Language Translation



Google has finally released an update for its Gboard app on iOS, which brings the translation support to the keyboard app. Translate support has been present in the Android counterpart of the app for over two years now. With the latest update, iPhone and iPad users will be able to translate to and from over 100 languages as they type. The updated Gboard app is now available in Apple's App Store and offers a number of other features that are not available in the stock Apple keyboard, including glide typing.

Google Maps Now Displays Speed Cameras In India



Tech giant Google has rolled out a new feature that allows users to identify and mark speed limit and speed cameras on the Google Maps. The features was recently introduced overseas in markets like the US, UK, Australia, Russia, Brazil Mexico, Canada and Indonesia, before making its way to India earlier this year. Google Maps allows users to report a speed camera on a particular road or highway, which will show for other users taking the same route.

Google Photos adds Express Backup and Data Caps for Android users in India

Google has added Express backup option in Google Photos for Android users. Earlier, this feature was only available for a select number of Android users in India. The search giant says that the latest Google Photos update should hit all the Android devices soon, and the Express backup option should reflect by the end of this week. The same feature will soon be rolled out to other countries as well.

Google Maps Allows Users to Add Public Events: Here’s How It Works

The new ‘Events' feature was spotted by Android Police first. Google has also updated its support pageto reflect details about the new feature. The support page says that the feature may not be available in all regions. To add an event, head to Google Maps on Android, tap on Contribute >Events > Add a public event. You can add an event name, tag the location, and add the time and date of the event as well. There's an option to add an image, write more event details, and add description as well. Android Police reports that it had issues while adding an image to the event.

Google is bringing interactive and dynamic emails for users, wherein the content will open up like a standard web page that you see normally, and you’ll not have to go out of the email to browse. In short, Google is bringing AMP for Gmail. The search giant using its AMP technology will now show similar web pages of hotel listings, fill out forms, and more with in your Gmail.

Google Gmail turns 15, adds Smart Compose and email scheduling

Marking its 15-year anniversary, the Gmail team is announcing new features to the email app with improvements to Smart Compose and a new feature to let users schedule their email to be sent at a later time.

Smart Compose is a feature inside Gmail introduced last year to help users draft emails faster with the help of artificial intelligence. In addition to autocompleting your emails, Smart Compose will now be able to learn the way you greet to people in your emails. The AI used will detect which type of a person you are and choose Hey over Hi depending upon your past email conversations.

Inbox by Gmail Co-Creator Releases Chrome Extension to Give Your Gmail Inbox a Cleaner Look



Inbox by Gmail was shut down earlier this week, and since then everyone has been on the lookout for an alternative. While Google is busy bringing some of the Inbox by Gmail features to the regular Gmail app, there are a few Chrome browser Web extensions that can bring a similar, cleaner interface to your Gmail inbox. Now, a new Chrome extension has been released by the co-creator of Inbox by Gmail that brings a similar experience to Gmail on the Web. Earlier, a Chrome extension called Inbox Theme for Gmail was also released which claims to offer similar features to Inbox by Gmail.

Google Chrome version 75 will restrict websites from detecting you in incognito mode



With Google Chrome version 75, when users access a website in incognito mode, those websites will not be to detect you. The fix is already available for testing in Google Chrome Canary and you can try it right now. In order to enable the feature on Chrome Canary, head to “chrome://flags” and search for “Filesystem API in Incognito” flag. Enable it and relaunch the browser. There is a test site being created, according to Techdows, which when visited through incognito mode after enabling the flag, you will see a pop-up message saying “it does not seem like you are in incognito mode”.

Google to let you auto-delete location tracking data

In yet another bid to address privacy concerns, Google is rolling out a key feature that will allow people to automatically delete their Location History, Web and App Activity data. Google last year courted controversy when an Associated Press investigation found that many Google services on Android devices and iPhones store users’ location data even if the users explicitly used privacy settings to turn it off. In a blog post late Thursday, Google said it is introducing auto-delete controls for users’ Location History and Web and App Activity data.

Google Play Store gets support for cash payments; UPI coming soon

At I/O 2019, Google announced that it is adding cash payment method for Google Play Store, which will allow users to top-up their account. This money can be used for buying apps or making in-app purchases. As of now, the feature is only available in Japan and Mexico.

Google Maps getting new 'speed limits' and 'radar locations' features

After running tests in the US and elsewhere, Google is rolling out speed limits and mobile radar locations in over 40 countries, including India, Engadget reported on Thursday. The search engine giant confirmed to TechCrunch that Maps would now let users see speed limits, speed cameras and mobile speed cameras in more than 40 countries worldwide including the US, UK, Mexico, Russia and Japan.

Google Maps now lets you check live train status, bus travel times and more in India

Last month, Google Maps received speed limits and mobile radar locations in over 40 countries, including India. Now, In order to improve public transport, Google has added three more features to Google Maps in India. Google Maps will now let you check Bus travel times from live traffic. This feature is currently available in 10 of the largest cities in the country, which includes Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, Chennai, Mysore, Coimbatore, and Surat.
