Google rolling out Chrome 72 with bug fixes, newer features

Google is rolling out the new update for its search browser, Chrome 72, with bug fixes, security updates and newer features like external storage access for Android apps including microSD cards and USB drives along with Picture in Picture (PiP) mode for Chrome sites.

Google adds new right click options to Gmail

Revamping Gmail, Google has added options like easy label adding, moving, muting and snooze emails to the right-click context menu of its emailing platform. The options would enable users to reply to or forward an email directly from a message while opening multiple emails in multiple new windows, Google wrote in a G Suite blog post on Monday.

Google Voice for iOS gets latest Material Theme

The search giant has updated the Google Voice for iOS with the Google Material Theme. The company had updated the Google Voice for Android late last month, and now the revamp has made its way to iOS with many of the latest design styling. The App Store listing notes ‘Updated new look and feel’ for the latest version 19.07, although the revamp is likely through a server-side update.

Gmail for iOS Gets New Material Theme, Shortly After Android



Google's Material theme is slowly making its way onto all of its software products, with Gmail having got early treatment a while ago on its Web app. Last week, Google rolled out the theme for Gmail on Android, bringing a new look to the app following the new design language of the Material theme. Now, Google is rolling out a similar theme change even for its Gmail app on iOS, so iPhone and iPad users on Gmail will see the change on their apps starting this week.

Google removes 28 fake apps from Play Store after a report by Quick Heal

A new report has emerged stating that Google has just removed 28 apps from its Google Play Store with more than 48,000 installs. Google removed these apps because they were fake and did not provide any functionality that was promised in the description or the name of the app. All these apps were created by the same developer by the name “Sarvesh Developer”. Taking a look at the names of the app removed, most of these apps claimed to provide functionality related to finances along with some apps present for stickers, tips, and even web hosting and DNS provider.

Google rolls outs AI grammar checker for G Suite users

US Internet giant Google has said its artificial intelligence (AI)-based grammar checker, corporate web tools and services are available for all users of G Suite, to help them improve writing.

Unlike standard spellcheck in Google Docs, Google applies Machine Learning technology to grammar checker as one of the AI tools that can let software understand complex grammar rules and identify any “tricky” grammatical errors by users in writing, Xinhua news agency reported.

Google Duo video chat web version is now official

While Google Duo is already available on Android, iOS, and Chromebooks, the search giant has now finally rolled out the web version of its video chat service. Google introduced this service back in 2016 at its I/O conference along with Google Allo.

Google Tweaks ‘Ok Google’ Capabilities to Boost Security on Locked Android Phones



Google is getting rid of the ability to unlock your phone with Voice Match and the "Ok Google" command in a new update to the Google app further securing the system. The search-engine giant has decided to limit the "Voice Match" unlock feature to only launch the Assistant interface on the lock screen instead of unlocking the Android device on the basis of voice match. Moto Z and Pixel XL devices had already lost the functionality with the Google app's 9.27 update.

Gmail Smart Compose feature now rolling out to all Android devices

So far, Gmail’s Smart Compose for Android was an exclusive feature for the latest Google phones, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Now however, the feature is rolling out to all Android devices that have updated the Gmail app. However, the Smart Compose feature doesn’t show up automatically, and you have to manually enable it.

Google testing bottom toolbar to allow easy tab switching on Chrome for Android: Report

Folks over at XDADevelopers recently spotted a redesigned bottom toolbar that shows open tabs, and add new tab shortcut at the bottom. This should enable users to easily switch between tabs. This bottom bar will show icons of all the open tabs in the background. Then, there is a small “^” icon on the bottom bar, tapping on which brings up the mini tab switcher.

Google Allo messaging app shutting down today; here's how to take a backup of your data



Google has noted that your Allo messages including incognito messages, as well as backups, will be deleted after March 12. Users are advised to download chats or media before the last day. All you need to do is head over to Menu option in the app and tap on Settings. Here, users will find Export messages from chats and Export stored media from chats under the chat option.

Google launches Chrome Lite Pages to increase speed of encrypted HTTPS websites on slow connections

Google has just announced a new feature as part of its in-house web browser, Google Chrome called “Lite Pages”. This new feature is aimed at improving the total time it takes to load HTTPS websites on Google Chrome for Android on slow internet connections. According to the announcement, the “Lite Pages” will be part of the “Data Saver” feature that comes with the browser. The reason Google launched this new feature is that the now old “Data Saver” feature only supported HTTP pages and there was no way to decrease page load times for HTTPS pages.
