Google is discontinuing two of its Chrome extensions

"Save to Google" and "Bookmark Manager" extensions will be shutting down in August.

The decision to kill the extension comes as a surprise, as Google had recently updated its functionality in the Search Android app. The feature managed to gain more traction last year, when Google mobile search and the Google app added a quick shortcut to access the saved photos and links.

Google Is Tracking You: How to Stop It and Delete Past Location Data

Even if you have Location History off, Google often stores your precise location. Here's how to delete those markers and some best-effort practices that keep your location as private as possible.

But there's no panacea, because simply connecting to the Internet on any device flags an IP address that can be geographically mapped. Smartphones also connect to cell towers, so your carrier knows your general location at all times.

Google Search update brings more relevant information in one search

In a recent blog post, Google explains the new feature with the example of someone redesigning a kitchen, and trying to figure out the difference between quartz and granite for new countertops. When the same query is posed in Google Search, the following results will not only present the user with the difference between the two, but will also provide additional information such as their cost, benefits, durability, and other important things through neatly organized subtopic panels. This will help reduce the number of search queries and also save time.

Google issues a clarification on how it tracks your whereabouts even if Location History is off

Google recently found itself embroiled in a controversy regarding its location tracking policies, after it was found that even users that have opted out of tracking of Location History are still having their location tapped and logged by the search and internet giant. Google Chrome will soon help you browse the web faster, here’s how

Dubbed ‘Lazy Loading,’ the feature has been spotted on Google Chrome’s developmental ‘Canary’ channel.

In the simplest of terms, ‘Lazy Loading’ is a technique that allows the web browser (in this case, Google Chrome) to load only those webpage elements that are currently visible on the display. The rest of the elements are loaded as the user scrolls up/down. This results in an overall faster browsing experience, since the browser doesn’t have to load and cache the entire webpage in one go.
