Re: Manufacturing date - is my dealer cheating me?

What is the colour of the car, some colours dont sell ? Or maybe this variant is not a hot selling one? Do ask for discounts or check other dealers.

Re: Manufacturing date - is my dealer cheating me?

I am interested to know how you came to know that it is 6 month old manufactured car. Does your dealer confirmed it or do you have decoded the VIN?

If the dealer himself confirmed, he must have offered a good deal on the car. If it is other way around, just walk away from the car. If you decide to go ahead with the purchase, do a thorough PDI and also ask for a good discount approx. 1 lakh to compensate.
They had earlier told it will be a Nov or Dec month vehicle. I had already paid the booking amount based on their confirmation. When I asked them which month has been allocated they told its a July month vehicle to my shock. It's a grey color vehicle which I think is a fast moving color. Later when I checked with other dealers nobody had that color in the variant I required in 2015 model. This got me thinking how come he still has got this in stock? The discount that this dealer is nothing extraordinary. It's around 40,000 on the on road price which is due to the Hyundai's Dec month offer.

Now they are offering me drive to their stockyard and check the vehicle before delivery. But there I have to choose at least one among the 3-4 vehicles they have there.

Just think on the questions below and decide yourself.
1. Is this car the last Grand i10 available in this planet for you to buy?
2. Is the car a gift? If not, is it your hard earned money? If yes, ***k the dealer and move to another one or ask them to provide you a recently manufactured car (~2 months)

The last portion 'But there I have to choose at least one among the 3-4 vehicles they have' shows their arrogance. Either ask them to provide a car from recent batch or get your booking amount refunded and move to a better dealer. I have first hand experience of test driving a Hyundai i20 which was supposed to get delivered to a customer the very next week and I came to know the same from my friend who was working there. So better not accept the car as we never know if the same was used as a test drive car, display car (the car you mentioned can be a display car) etc.

Re: Manufacturing date - is my dealer cheating me?

The dealer is trying to be over smart here. 40k discount is not much. As @allhyundaicars suggested that 70k discount is easily available on grand i10, the deal you are getting do not make much sense IMO. 6 month old vehicle is not an issue if the vehicle is in perfect condition and you get a good discount on it.

You have a upper hand here. They promised a Nov or Dec model and now they are offering a July one. So simply ask for more discount (at least double of present). If they offer you reasonable discount, buy after a thorough PDI. If they do not, simply ask them to refund the amount and buy from another dealer. I think peace of mind of buying a latest make is much better than 40k discount and then living with a feeling that you might have been cheated.

Vipul Sirji,I was stuck at your Wagon R 1.1 versus Celerio comparison for a while.I owned both and I also have the 1.2 K Swift.Suddenly the comparison between torque/power/ride ability all went for spins in my head. Although the engine capacity matters with respect to power, the transmission system also play in the picture.Wagon R 1.1 had a notorious shift of gears whereas Celerio shifts like butter smooth. The 1.1 had the grunt but the body style and the weight made the engine look feeble.Where as Celerio is like a tuned body builder, with less weight and more power. In fact the 1.1L engine in Wagon R and Celerio Vxi 998CC churns out exactly 67BHP.So,my take is that the transmission, weight and tuning also plays the part with the car becoming more fun to drive. As for me,the Petrol engine in Swift and Ritz (1.2K) is more fun to drive because of the better gear system,VTVT (?) .Still these are heavier cars and the extra bhp produced makes it not much of use. The best will be when you put the 1.2k in Celerio. Then it becomes a pocket rocket. This is not likely to happen as the same engine had gone in to Baleno. Nice to read your observations.

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 Horn Replacement

What is Trip A and Trip B?
Not the right thread for this query buddy. [:)]

But anyway, these "Trip A" and "Trip B" are tripmeters. Just like the main odometer, they calculate the distance covered by the car and you can reset them (maybe by long-pressing the knob).

Suppose you want to calculate your FE. You will set trip meter A for calculating the distance over which fuel lasts. Trip meter B can be used to calculate the distance travelled on highway, by resetting it to zero before starting on a highway drive. Bad example, I know. [lol]

Re: Hyundai Grand i10 Horn Replacement

There is an indicator at the top right corner, the C/H meter? What is that actually?
It would be better if you can provide a pic of the same. I don't have a Grand i10 and it is difficult for me to interpret.

Phukan post your queries in the above mentioned thread.
The meter is to tell you the engine temperature. C is cool , H is hot. It will normally be in the center or tilted towards C. Also read the manual book thoroughly to understand all the features of your car.

Re: Coolant top up

When you have changed coolant last time, if it is over two years then drain coolant fully and mix 30/70 coolant to distil water, refill in radiator. Refill up to max mark on reservoir tank. Use the car a day and check radiator coolant level when engine is cool, if required top-up again.

Service for new Hyundai car

I am planning to buy a new Hyundai i10 from a certain dealer in Chennai but I don't like their service. Is it possible to give the car to any nearest Hyundai service center for the free and paid services after purchasing the car? Or is it mandatory to give the car for service only with the dealer whom we have purchased the car?? if somebody can please clarify this. [confused]
