Car - Honda City (Sep 2012 model) - EMT
Mileage in City driving (no AC) = 16.6kmpl
Mileage in City driving (with AC) = 15.8kmpl
Mileage on Highways (with AC) = 19.1kmpl

[:D]

These are figures i have been getting consistently over the last few months since i bought the car. All the figures are based on tankful method.
The figures in MID on an average have shown an error of 0.5kmpl

P.S: I have a very conservative style of driving and rarely race the car except on straight highway stretches [:)]

Ertiga ZDI : Tank capacity 45 litre

Distance covered : 510 KM ( Till first service)

Fuel Left = Full Tank Capacity - Refill till fuel tank = 45l- 31l = 14 litre

Fuel consumed = 31L

Avg = 510KM/31L = 16.45 KMPL

Driven mostly in city and average and first 200 KM was meant for learning driving. Many a time driven 2 gear as I was learning.

My Alto LXi 2006, done 67,000Kms gives around 15-16kmpl with the Air Conditioner running the whole time. It could deliver more, But the PWD authorities have erected 11 speed bumps on my commute route. Have to brake, shift down to third at least to negotiate them and I lost on fuel efficiency in the process. My car used to give some 19-20kmpl with the Air conditioner on before the bumps came. Wish they used speed radars instead of making bumps like for every Kilometer or so.[confused]

Hope its okay if I post about my bike too.

Tankful to tankful and in mixed conditions(City and open roads), Its delivering 35kmpl at the moment, Last time around it was 39kmpl.

On my weekend trip from Mira Road - Uruli (Approx 45 kms from Pune) - Mira Road - about 420 kms, my nano used approx 16 liters of petrol, with 30% of the time AC on.

That's almost 26 kms/liter. [surprise]

However, city driving gives me around 15 km/liter, which I feel is really bad. Any suggestions on how to improve the mileage for city driving?

Are you sure that the tank capacity is only 45 lts? Just try filling it beyond it and I am sure she will drink even more. Always, try Tank Full with 1st Auto Cut-off, drive and Tank Full again with 1st Auto Cut-off (preferably from same Pump and even nozzle too). That's the most optimal way to calculate the FE.

I got it filled till brim where bottom of cap starts. I believe hardly it can get more than 500ml to overflow.

My drive a Suzuki Sx4 Green (CNG)

Driven 185KM from Mumbai - Chembur to Hadapsar Pune (160KM) with around 20KM in pune city at various places. with 8.50KG of CNG completly on ac on the super express highway. (5KM on petrol) i got almost 19.1 approx

And on return straight from hadpsar to Mumbai via express way i filled 7.10KG and reached chembur without any issues.

Vehicle : Tata Indigo TDI
oDo : 1.41 Lac kms
Last tankful fuel economy :
City : 9 to 11
Highway : 18 (80-90 kph)

Car due for a piston ring change, hence the less city economy.

As For calculating Fe i fill the tank to it's fullest I personally shake the car(much to the amusement of onlookers) when the guy fills in. So my tankful is actually tankful
Hi Jatin,

Was curious to know what shaking the car has to do with your tank
up?? [confused]

I own an Alto, and its FE in my last long trip with 24.89 km/l. [clap]
