The car thats first going to reach India will be a sedan version under 4m mark
If they put the 1.5l i4 inside it it will be well and good, if they try it with a 1.2 or 1.0l motor petrol will be dead
About diesel I am pretty sure its the same 1.5 Duratorq from new Fiesta and Ecosport is a different tune 75 PS @3000 rpm and 190 NM @2000 rpm, and it might boast a huge mileage figure of over 27 kmpl
About features sure Ford will always provide the essential ones,If they can provide AIRBAGS,ABS in all variants, I will appreciate it over any other basic feature[clap]

Hi All,
This is my fist ever post on TAI, so please excuse me in case of any mistakes.
Am in the Market for a compact sedan, I test drove Tata zest and Maruti Dzire and my findings are below:
Also to give you a bit background, I owned Maruti Baleno which I used for 5 years and sold it few weeks back.
Tata Zest TD:
The Car is really good, I test drove the Petrol variant but the only problem and the main problem is after you switch on the AC the car feels extremely sluggish, approx. 40% power is reduced. Please advise if anyone in the forum has felt the same way?
Dzire TD:
Again very good car but lack the mid punch and a bit outdated.
Now I am looking forward for Figo concept which looks good. However can anyone please advise me on launch date as currently I don’t have any four wheeler and I am ready to wait till April 15. If the launch date is within April then I can wait if not then I have look for other options.
My monthly run is between 700 km to 900 km.
Budget: around 7 lack.
your expert advice is much appreciated ..

Figo 2015 will get launched either by February 2015 or by July 2015,
Figo compact sedan is a very good alternative to Zest,Dzire,much much better than Amaze but maybe not as good as Hyundai xcent,
If driving enjoyment is priority look no further wait for Figo conpact sedan,
If Ford is ready to launch Figo sedan with the new 1.5l sigma engine with 105 hp and 146 NM as in Brazil for petrol its going to be a hoot to drive,no comortition can come close,but if they restrict petrol with 1.0 i3 NA engine with 80 hp its petrol is best said dud,
Diesel is 90% sure a detuned 1.5 TDCI with 75 hp and 190 NM@2000 rpm engine that might be able to boast over 27 kmpl mileage,
I would say wait for some official confirmation that might take place by January 2015,

The new Ford Ka, aka Ford Figo is again Fords second ace since Ecosport

Ford Brazil announces its car of the year,the tuffest award jury in Brazil voted Ford Ka car of the year 2015 for Brazil, seems like a fantastic start for Ford,now bring the 1.5 sigma and 1.5 TDCI and 1.0 i3 for hatch in India,this car will make Fords hay for 2015

here is the dyno results of the new Ford Figo with the 1.5 TiVCT
Seems the engine has very good torque band from as low as 2000 rpm, it stays flat, very good characteristic for an atmospheric engine

Under AC it dips its torque and hp, still very good, since Ford Figo is light say nearly 1040 kg for hatch and 1080 kg for sedan and with a gross weight of ~ 1300 kg this car could be above average in terms of POWER, only if Ford is willing to put the 1.5 TiVCT sigma for India,

This one should be worth the wait. However they need to cut cost on servicing for better customer experience IMO.

I think service cost is already super low, recently I had one of my friends Fiesta classic serviced after3 years of no servicing, and it had lot of wiring issues and mechanical issues due to poor maintainance by the driver and it costed just 7k to repair it almost in full except power windows which needed a full replacement motor and tires that got worn out,
Similar or higher price is expected even for Hyundai and Maruti Swift, so I think Ford is pretty cheap to serive as of now.

The new Figo has destroyed the new Nissan Micra 1.6 in Brazil
Its an official success in Brazil with sales over 7000 cars per month,thats pretty difficult to manage in Brazil with the competition being super tough,
Ford Ka or Figo has 8 cars in competition with it in Brazil and its now in 2nd spot just behond the world car of the year VW UP!

Seems the new Figo has a brilliant start just like Ecosport did, now Ford shouldnt mess with the new Figo here in India as the basement is strong a good pricing will lead to fly away success

Ford plans its Compact Sedan launch in July 2015.
Of three new cars planned for this year, Ford is expected to launch the Figo sedan first around July, followed by its hatchback version around September and the new Endeavour SUV around December

July would be too late.. technically I don't have a car now, I am desperately waiting for Ford compact Sedan to launch :( I think I will have to start looking for options with heavy heart..

Hyundai i20 Elite or new Tata Zest, both are very good alternatives to Figo compact sedan, but nothing can replace the charm of perfect balance between ride and handling that Ford nails with its cars

exactly!! Fun to drive factor is only in Ford cars.. how about considering classic D ..

I know its quite old now.. but is it worth considering .??
