the new Fiesta. I was thinking that it would appear on the AutoExpo. But I surfed the net after seeing your post, most of the Automotive websites are giving it on 5th. I guess Ford wants to give Fiesta a special debut.

I think trim-to-trim, Fiesta will be priced lower than Ecosport. Few reasons for that:
1. Last gen Fiesta was a flop and they really want to incentivize buyers.
2. C2 Sedan segment has really hot competition now and rest of 2014 also has launches.
3. No export quotas to meet for Fiesta as against Ecosport. So a lower price will persuade some Ecosport bookings to shift to Fiesta.
I think trim-to-trim, Fiesta will be priced lower than Ecosport. Few reasons for that:

2. C2 Sedan segment has really hot competition now and rest of 2014 also has launches.
3. No export quotas to meet for Fiesta as against Ecosport. So a lower price will persuade some Ecosport bookings to shift to Fiesta.

It's hard to price it at par with Ecosport,the automatic Ecosport is 9.2 ex showroom,don't think they can sell Fiesta AT at that price.If they do,I will convert Ecosport booking to Fiesta.But the ZEST AMT Diesel with independent suspension and ZF electronic steering & a supposedly good handling is a real dilemma invoking proposition.

Nope @Bopanna Fiesta 2014 will be priced atleast 1 lakh more than Ecosport variant to variant reasons
1. Fiesta sedan is more than 4m long
2. Fiesta sedan has better interior quality than Ecosport
3. Fiesta sedan 2014 will have more features and different seats and seat covers as from Ecosoprt,
So my guess is 2014 Fiesta ex showroom pricing will be +1 lakh to Ecosports variant to variant and in my opinion thats not bad, if they manage to price it only 50-75k more than Ecosport well and good

The updated car is just being showcased in the Auto expo for now. It will be launched in the Indian market in the later half of the year.

I think my source was completely right, the new Fiesta facelift is getting exactly what he had told me before and about the launch date Ford has plans for launching new Fiesta only in the second half of 2014 because they need to clear the stock of existing Ford Classic and Figos that are not doing well in their respective segments and are clogged in their parking lots so that they can make room for the 2015 Figo and its sedan as well as the refreshed Fiesta
Also Sanand plant is capable of making powershift transmissions as one of their bay will be opened up with joint venture with Volvo(also uses powershift transmissions), so my sources say that by 2015 Fords powershift AT cars will be a lot cheaper than current ones by 10-20% ,also the ecoboost engines, but diesels will become more expensive than current versions,
My source also gave info that Ford is sweating blood to make a decision regarding whether Fiesta should have more than 6 variants(including petrol & diesels) as it wont be a volume seller, but the feature list is so vast that including alot of features in 3 packages will make each variant expensive
As for the new Fiesta I quiet like the new metallic brown colour of Fiesta looks smart and unique, I really miss the old maroon colour that the Ford Classic had as well, The car will come with dual tone interiors as opposed to single tone grey black combination of Fiesta, this will be a huge factor for lot of Indians who love beige interiors, the new cloth seats are way better than the old ones as well, the door switches will be re positioned and SYNC applink will be more responsive and easy to use as well, Now Ford has to keep this as a drivers car by not destroying the engine characteristics in name of fuel economy and of course pricing will play the biggest role for its ventures to come

The front looks are very sporty now. Hope they will add some basic things like USB, Mileage Indicators, etc etc in the mid variant at least. If they price it well it will sell well.

Come on Ford, why no Fiesta hatch ? I don't know why Ford India doesn't realize a ground shift towards demand for premium sub-4m cars in India driven by buyers in congested metros like Bangalore. I thought the steep demand for Titanium trims in Ecosport would have persuaded them to launch the Fiesta hatch too. It is pure herd mentality on Ford's part to go head-on against Honda,Hyundai,VW,Skoda,Fiat and MS in the C2 sedan segment where there is hardly space or hope for a market success.
PS: the UK Fiesta hatch is 3969mm so there was no re-engineering needed also.
