Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

Hi 1989rs500 & Volksjäger, thank you for sharing lots of info on Fiesta 2014. Any insight on when face lifted Fiesta will be announced? I've already booked EcoSport and still waiting, if Ford is going to announce in next 4-5 months, I'll switch my booking to the new Fiesta.

From what I know Ford will launch 2014 Fiesta only by mid 2014 that is by June or July 2014
Ford is suffering from their supply chain constraints and that is the main reason for delay of Ecosport and launch of new Fiesta,as for Ecosport when there are more than 8 variants for Ecosport the packaging efficiency decreased a lot as well as the supply chain got hit hard, the ratio of Ecosports for domestic vs export could not be altered as it was global Fords decision to launch Ecosport in all ASEAN countries and Europe and Russia within 2015 and Ford India and Ford Thailand and Brazil are the only places where Ecosports are made as of now, so all in all the future plans got messed up as well, anyway the launch of Fiesta facelift will definitely detract atleast 1% of Ecosport customer to Fiesta sedan
I hope its better @Apple cling on to Ecosport so if the facelift Fiesta sedan gets launched @Apple will get it within 1 week time itself and as for 2014 Fiesta facelift its definitely going to be better than 2012 model and if rear legroom is not a priority its a brilliant car.

Thank you 1989rs500. As per dealer my EcoSport will be delivered in June and by that time if Ford announces Fiesta 2014 and I'll immediately switch the booking.

I extensively test drove Fiesta 2013 and loved every bit of it. I'm really not concerned about the rear seat as it will be occupied very rarely and I'll be always in the drivers seat [:D]

Yea , I too extensively tested Fiesta 2012 and I too loved it except for its back seats which has almost no under thigh support and it seems too flat almost like seats for children only
Another thing I didnt like about 2012 Fiesta sedan was the huge turbo lag below 2000 rpm which got amplified due to the heavy clutch, so driving in stop and Go traffic was a bit of a handful and apart from that Fiesta is a superb drivers car, only the Fiat Linea was good enough to be in its way
The 2014 model is a must need improvement for Fiesta as a lot of issues will get addressed with it, If @Apple might have noticed the Fiesta 2012-13 didnt even have chrome painted door handles which even the Ecosport has, the 12V port cover was super flimsy and the steering adjust and plastics near handbrake and lower dash board were too crude and industrial in nature, the 2014 model addresses all these and much more,so I am too waiting for Fiesta 2014 with ecoboost engine, that should be one hell of a combination as Fiesta is lighter, more aerodynamic, lower to ground, and has better steering than Ecosport
European magazines say Fiesta ecoboost hatch back can do 0-100 kmph is 9.4 to 9.6s so the sedan might do it in range of 10-10.5s(my guess) and it will feel more energetic and will give better economy and will be able to mask the turbo lag below 1800 rpm easily unlike Ecosport which will get strained if car is full and engine speed goes below 1800 rpm

Hello have you tried upgrading SYNC with New Fiesta, any idea whether its possible ?
From what I know its possible to update the SYNC but a complete reboot is required which needs a day of work as the whole system needs to be re calibrated as fonts, colour, even features differ with Ecosport and Fiesta but its possible, has @msjawahar tried updating it anytime when at service station atleast?

You are most welcome Apple, Its good to have another Ford enthusiast on the forum, Eco-sport is no doubt a good car...It is Economy+Sports [:D]. Frankly speaking rear seat of the Fiesta is not that bad at all. You can check it for yourself when you visit the showroom again. Regarding the launch time of the car, I will go with 1989rs500. If you are looking for out & out drivers car under 13 lakhs budget then you should look no further than the Fiesta. Even Linea is a good drivers car, but it is more of a personal preference.

Kairali Ford as usual is kind of lazy nowadays they are not willing to help customers get good info about cars as well as service is just average, If we put up an angry face they might work with a little bit pump otherwise they show droopy faces,
Once when I went there and asked about Ecoboost the SA was thinking hard looking up in the sky, then to the ground then calling someone and asking the answer, the question I asked was, how much bhp is Ford 1.0 ecoboost, atlast I told him its 125 PS or 123 bhp[frustration]
SYNC has hardware difference in Ecosport to Fiesta but dont know how much thats why I asked the question of can it be done, anyway I have asked my Chennai source and he tells that Fiestas SYNC cannot be Upgraded but it can be updated,
Ecosports can be upgraded since its newer version and has more commands and codes inbuilt into it

Usually that's the behaviour of a sales rep, sad to know that even SA's have become like that. I wont say all but most of the SA's are not that knowledgable. They don't even know properly about their own products. I have heard that one of the Ford service center was shut down in kollam. Ford service centers in hyderabad are not the best either, there are good technicians but they waste a lot of time, they give wrong quotations on the phone without checking out the price list. You need to know some one inside to get your work done properly.

I would like to share my experience with my Fiesta. One day, I went to service center to change the headlight bulbs. The service advisors answer was, leave the car here sir, it will take a day's time to change & quoted me 1500/- [confused] . Actually it is a little difficult to change Fiesta's headlight bulbs :agree:, but it certainly won't take a day's time. I simply told me him that I will do it by myself & left. So it was my first time & I took 1 hr to replace the bulbs. From next time onwards I didn't take more than 20 mins to change the bulbs.

the same feedback was given by many others about Kairali Ford. I had given the first service in Akshaya Ford in Tirunelveli. I was happy with their work. Seems like a new ford dealer is going to come up in Nagercoil, so in that case it would be a better option even for you.

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

Its almost confirmed the 2014 Fiesta will show up here at greater Noida and it will be launched at a descent price tag, the best news I got is Ecosports diesel tune will be adopted for Fiesta 1.5 TDCi thats a great news as thew new Fiesta 2014 will feel much more powerful and more quieter and yet more frugal than the 2012 Fiesta model
Ford might skip cruise control,My Ford touch,Auto headlamps,Auto wipers, moon roof,a few airbags for India as it might become too expensive for the segment, new interior seat covers and beige upholstery can be expected for some variants, a new leather seats of superb quality might come in Top of the line variants
Same accessory kits of Ecosport are applicable to new Fiesta
But I really miss this

Also check how the Ecoboost Powershift Fiesta perform,
Ford Fiesta EcoBoost 1 0 PowerShift - YouTube
its acceleration can be matched only by VW Vento 1.2 TSi , Oh I am starving to drive an Ecoboost Fiesta after watching this video

Bro can you please find out whether the Fiesta is coming with a 16 inch alloys or 15 inch alloys ? Find out if you can & please let me know at your convenience. [:)]

By the way, moon-roof,auto wipers, auto headlamps are of no use to me, I prefer old school. I am happy that Ford is not giving them. The reason why I don't prefer key-less entry is, if the battery in the key fob gets low car wont start properly, I experienced this in a Renault pulse. you wont know whether it is key fob's battery or car's battery. And the second thing that concerns me most is the PUSH BUTTON start. In a Manual car, I have to start the engine by pressing the clutch, which means I pressing the clutch while the engine is off!!! Which will damage clutch cylinder in the long run. Most of the parts now a days are light weight plastic parts that can be easily damaged. In cars now a days, if you keep pressing the clutch while the engine is off you will damage the clutch cylinder!! That's why I always prefer old school.

Couldnt get the right info but he hopes it wont have anything more than 15" wheels,
Key less entry and Push button start system uses battery a lot but, those keys have a manual lock as well right in case it gets locked due to battery failure
Yes Push button Start might damage clutch but I dont think it will affect its durability by more than 1 year, Like if the car is in an incline we will have to use either handbrake or brakes and clutch combination to start the car right, its the same and that level of small engagement wont hurt clutch as per me, but the condition is much different while car is on move, so the Push button start is not much of a concern but the cars battery life is sure to be 10-20% lower than an average manually starting cars life
