Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Service is not gonna be a problem as Kerala has lots of Ford dealers and like 1989rs500 said the last model was there as well as eco sport. If you car has any technical snag it can be resolved for sure.It is the cosmetic parts like headlights, rear lamps which are difficult to get.
For Trivandrum people it wont be a issue from Jan 2015, as there is a new Ford Dealer gonna come up in Kanyakumari. It will be around 80 kms from Trivandrum. Since its a brand new can expect them to perform good atleast in the initial stage. Lets see how things will get sorted.

Kanyakumari, that seems fine,I too hope that they will have more enthusiasm to at least have some show cars and test drive vehicles. This sounds good, thanks msjawahar

Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Hi bump_that i am seeing your are having a great time with the baby aston![clap] God bless and you shall keep on having this time. I had one question - Yesterday my Dad drove Rapid with the full accelerator pressed and revved it quite a bit. Weirdly for a diesel,it easily goes up to the 4500 rpm mark. Anyways the acceleration was BRUTAL and it overtook nearly all the cars on the highway except for a BMW 320D sport line[frustration]. Rapid couldn't overtake it but kept up with it. So now to the question- Is it similar in your Fiesta? How much can it be revved according to you? ( I'm sorry for being so excited but Rapid is a damn fast car woohoo!!!) Really apologise for asking a foolish question but for a teenager a car going fast has to be exciting[;)]

Rapid is definitely the fastest car in this segment followed by Verna, Fiesta is just adequate,it can never keep up with Rapid or Vento in a straight line, what it does miles better is handling,it handles brilliantly, actually a regular person cannot identify the ability Fiesta holds,it will seem to a regular person as a very controlled car with quiet interior and smooth accelaration and good comfort, thats it,but push it and it shows its true genetics, its a rally derived chassis,so its cspability is beyond what regular FWD cars do hold,to enjoy that one needs to be a true passionate car,for the rest its a regular stylish sedan
About Rapids Power, its a 16 v engine compared to 8v per cylinder format of Ford Fiestas DV5 engine, Ford does have a similar engine to that of what VW has a 16v DV6 engine with 3 states of tune 94 bhp,105 bhp,113 bhp but sadly they dont provide these engines for India .
Still that dosent make Fiesta a slow coach, infact my friend who drives the pre facelift Fiesta says his Fiesta is faster than Indias best seller Honda City with 100 hp,but looses out to Verna and Vento and zRapid, another thing that I like a bit more about Fiesta is refinement,I felt TDCI to be a tad more refined than the TDI,

An absolutely perfect reply rsrs. The TDI is always loud and clattery on a cold start but even when the engine is warmed up, you will know that is an oil burner under the hood.
Fiesta is one of the most refined cars in the segment with the likes of Verna leading in the refinement category. Rapid does sound like a TRACTOR when started on a cold start.
Thanks for the reply.

Giving her for her first service tomorrow. Booked the slot. The power windows child lock does not work. This must be under warranty right?I feel so but the receptionist was not sure. There is rattling from the dash(could be due to some coins or idol) and too much acceleration in lower gears ( Slow speed-not sure as it is my first diesel). Is this normal in diesels? Also can I install anti theft alram and central locking like Maruti where the doors can't be opened from inside unless you pull a lever once it is locked? Is it possible at the service station ? Anyone?

I've also booked my slot for first service on Saturday. Pls update us on your first service.
Pls check for any loose stuff in your glove box for the rattling.

Turbo-lag is very much evident in the 2nd gear at lower rpms[frustration]. I drive a 2007 Fiesta(Now classic) as well & I feel 1.4 TDCI has got a lesser turbo lag in 2nd gear. Its normal & you'll get used to it.

I read about double locking in the below link. Ford is offering this feature for its global models & this will disable the inside door levers. Don't know whether this works in indian models.
Locking and unlocking - Locks - Ford Fiesta Owners Manual - Ford Fiesta - Ford manuals

Sorry for late reply buddy was busy with college work , am still on run-in period [lol] so didn't revved it beyond 2k rpm mark and like everyone said rapid, vento and verna are the most powerful and fastest sedans in the segment, fiesta is slowest among all once i get a good job am gonna install a tunning box for some extra horses [;)] at one stage of time i didn't felt the difference between city and fiesta handling but then things change when i was comming back to delhi from murthal there's one curvy road on Delhi bypass which i took to go janakpuri and that one curve change the whole perception. With each curve i fell more and more in love with her.

Congratulations Roadie btw Arm rest!!! Is it a third party one cos what I heard is Ford is not providing any Arm rest in all variants.

The reason why most showroom's don't have a Fiesta for TD is Ford just released 500 Fiesta's in the entire country, they just wanted this car within an exclusive club initially. More cars will be available once the new plant in Maharashtra (not sure) starts production right now they are busy with ecosport export.

Quakerme their new Maharashtra plant is a mystery, first let them complete their Sanand plant, from Sanand plant the new Figo and new Endeavour will get their assembly.
If they release new Figo too late say after 2015 May then too no use, Endeavour also, Ford is already late,I mean too late in business,
From what I have heard,Ford has made heavy losses in Europe and Russia and Australia,to make up for these extreme losses, they are giving good anf advanced products to profitable markets only like China,Thailand,USA,UK, certain South American countries and European ones too,
Rest all will get the newer genereation Fords only after Europe shows profit, until then Asia,Australia, will be neglected .

Yes ,It is a third party aftermarket universal armrest. It does the job.Not so strong to hold so much pressure.Just fine for resting the arm.Yes it does not look so upmarket and one of my friend rightly pointed out immediately after seeing it.Got it for just 800 bucks from e bay.Fitted in the local accessories shop without the base. The second level went inside the center console rater than covering it. Coz fiesta has a wide center handbrake console.Any way fits just fine.

Ford does have arm rest available for fiesta but costs 10000/-[cry].So got this and works just fine.
