Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Not at all. In my Fiesta's 2nd service(10,000 kms) the total amount was Rs. 2362. May be in the 3rd service (20,000 kms) it may come around Rs. 3300, but not sure about it. Fiesta is so cheap to maintain than Vento, Rapid, Verna.
What's the fuel filter replacement interval for Fiesta and how much it costs?

I was told even the 2nd service is free of cost. The costs you've mentioned is for classic or new fiesta?

Hi dvprashanth,OTR was about 10.5 Lakhs with free essential kit and Parking sensors. Will share the break up soon.It is the highest in India due to the exorbitant road tax in KA. That means you are gonna get this at least 50k cheaper anywhere else in India.I have installed rear view night vision camera with bluetooth and USB as the parking sensors ford provides for fiesta are good for nothing.Just a beep and it wont tell you the distance and it starts crying if some thing is 10 meters away or even for the side walls!.My friend has a 3 year old Figo he has the distance speaking one.For a bigger car like this that should have been the sensor at least.

I think the smoked head lamps comes in trend only as I saw top model with plain lamp. They should have given it across the range.I was burning midnight oil on how to DIY the smoke effect but this came as a pleasant surprise.I have also installed after market armrest for 800 bucks and it fits quite well .Seat covers costed me 6700/-.Floor paneling with high quality thick vinyl costed 3800/-.Changed the park lights to LED units for Rs 300/-.

Trend has got 3.5" screen right? since it is as OEM accessory, they should've integrated Rear park sensors into the screen with distance display, as in the titanium. Could you pls share interior pics of trend.

Smoked headlamps for both ambiente & trend. Titanium gets chrome finished headlamps. But for diamond white, smoked headlamps suits well.

Where did you bought this armrest. Can you pls share the details. I'm planning to install as well.
Could you pls explain more about 'Floor paneling with high quality thick vinyl'.

I checked the option to integrate it,but seems they(dealer)are not sure.May be it comes with only the sync package?.But mostly i do not see any reason for it cannot be be done. Will check with them again.Any way it is due for first service now. Also my aftermarket camera has no distance display either.

Arm rest:-I bought it from e bay. There are many you will see from Rs 700 to 4000.But i analysed and all looks the same and quality also seems same.I got it installed by an accessories shop near e city.Just 15 minutes job.Should have been an easy DIY. I did not use the base panel as fiesta has a wide center console. What I did is just screwing it from inside wall without any drilling.looks neat.I am planning to do more packing to make it look even better and stable even though there are no issues as of now.[roll]The ford accessory looks a little different than this universal one.Costs a bomb. almost 10k![surprise]

Coming to the floor paneling,You have it from 1200 but the quality differs. What you might have seen in common is the one in most cabs. The thin one affixed with glues which tears off easily. The one i have is thicker than that and looks neat and premium. Will surely post new pics this weekend.

Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Didnt test drive ciaz MSN1,I had many chances but as you might know my incline towards Ford didnt let me want to drive it,anyway as I got disappointed by ford I ll be taking a test drive soon.
Bro,Sadly Ford is killing its own baby.It is still not available in Kerala.
I learned this in a very hard way.The story is,Some stupid biker rammed my Fiesta from behind with his rusty old bike in Calicut.Park lamp was broken. The biker was adamant with usual street smartness like poor biker rich carwala story.Confronted him but did not have enough time to pull his collar and squeeze the money out as my in laws ,wife and baby was in the car and time was less.[frustration][gun].
Took my car to the ford showroom next day. There was some Onam function going on for the employees. As I entered the compound the whole crew started looking at the car like seeing an alien object.I waited and requested help for my park lamp replacement. The SA asked me "Have you modified your fiesta?".He had every reason to think so,coz there in my place every other car heads to the modification centers to make it look different. My fellows there are carzy about it.Ok, I said no it is the new one ,the 2014 Global. He came and took a closer look.Consulted his manager and said"Sorry sir,We don't have this car in supply in Kerala. No Idea when it is gonna come.So no parts either. You better try your luck in Bangalore".End of story.
I went back, took a wide adhesive tape and neatly pasted. All fine.Removed the small tyre marks with a scratch remover and polished. No need to spend 4k.Happy motoring. Not gonna change it.Not visible at all.

[frustration]here as well, I too take good care of my Figo still it gets tampered once in a while, she is 4 years old now and with the last service done 3 days back she looks and feels as good as new, has done just 20000 kms in 4 years but I still love driving it,whether it is too short of a commute as well, Hoping Ford to launch Fiesta with ecoboost

Non availability of this car in a state like kerala is serious matter for car owners. If I purchase it & happened tovisit Kerala (likely because it is tourist destination), what if my car needs some ASS there?

Actually pre face lift model was readily available here and in terms of what it shares with it Ecosport its shares 90% or more, so in a way there isnt going to be a reliability problem but availability problem is what matters here in Kerala

Service is not gonna be a problem as Kerala has lots of Ford dealers and like 1989rs500 said the last model was there as well as eco sport. If you car has any technical snag it can be resolved for sure.It is the cosmetic parts like headlights, rear lamps which are difficult to get.
