Re: Ford Fiesta 2014 Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Its 158mm in my Fiesta (2013). I guess it should be the same in the 2014 model too.
GC is 158mm for 2014 model as well. However in real time, Fiesta's GC is better than Classic's GC of 168mm. I haven't scraped those spreadbrakers, which I used to scrap in my old fiesta.

Re: Ford Fiesta 2014 Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Recently had been to Ford dealership to check out New Fiesta. There was hot competition between City & Fiesta as a replacement for Figo. As I went inside dealership, I was surprised to see no display car at all, then a Salesperson came and enquired. All that he had was brochure & pricelist. There wasn't a single new Fiesta in stockyard, No Test Drive Car. Turned out to be a big disappointment. Car was considered for its all roundness and the dealership experience turned out to be a sour one. Finally booked City on that day. Had there been display car, I would have booked Fiesta. How the heel can you book car without seeing and test driving it ?

Same situation prevailed here as well, but as of now at least test car is on display, but they are least interested in selling it.

Even I don't understand the production constraint excuse they say. Why is not Ford interested in selling this beautiful car still remains a mystery. Either way I was fortunate enough to book a red fiesta last month and after some difficulty in getting my loan approved finally Ill get my car this week.

One thing for sure, FORD Killed the 2011 Fiesta because of Pricing. Now they are Killing a Niche product because of Bad Marketing. For friend of mine we visited Kairali TVM, Akshaya Trinelveli, Akshaya madurai Dealerships for Test Drive. The sad part is No test drive cars are available and no vehicles in Stock.

The Best part is a Salesman comment " The Dealership is not interested to spend 20 lakhs on a Petrol and Diesel Test Drive Fiesta". The message is he don't even know that the petrol version is discontinued in 2014 version.

Honda City is Getting more FORD customers.

From FORD plant operations, when Petrol and Automatic cars are gaining momentum they discontinued the lineup. Something worse with their product strategy department.

How come customers left despondent by ford dealers are going towards Honda City , I mean what qualities of the City are similar to Ford fiesta 2014?
I loved the ford fiesta 2014 after TD but one of my requirements was good GC hence I didn't booked it but if I had to think of something similar to fiesta due to poor response from dealer , I would have gone for VW Vento , skoda Rapid or Hyundai Verna.

I too have faced similar issues with Ecosport case. Even the ford dealer was not ready to give ES for test drive because they can't deliver for the next 6 months and trying to convince me for fiesta classic. The waiting period for ES was 6 months when I enquired in Jan 2014. So I moved to Honda because of Service, Brand Image.

I could not consider VW, Skoda for their poor ASS. Not decided to go for Verna due to suspension and some more small issues.

Exactly if Ford had released 1.0 ecoboost Fiesta sedan or at least the 1.5 TiVCT with DCT AT it sure could have earned a few accolades and more brand image and hence a few more customers
If we see VW we know how hard VW is trying to market their products despite they being expensive and poor ASS they keep on advertising and promoting their cars, almost all news papers have 1 or 2 cuttings of new Polo ad or in TV as well, new Fiesta not even a single ad, they advertise Ecosport that too barely, extremely poor marketing strategy by Ford, I think Mr. Joginder Singh was better than Nigel Harris in marketing Ford,he sure did a better job by maintaining market momentum by keeping Ecosport hot on TV and in on internet and in newspapers, but sadly the supply chain issue struck his fortune bad and blame went on his head
Ford is just showing merit as a one trick pony,
Ford can never become a rival to Maruti,Hyundai,Honda in terms of mass sales, I think what Ford should aim is loyal customer service, If they keep a stand and stay on it rather than deviating from it timely they will succeed

Again had a test drive of Ecosport yesterday with my brother and it was diesel, the SA told he is sure that Ford is going to introduce Fiesta sedan with 1.0 ecoboost by 2015, on those words I still stay with Ford.[sleep]

I think that Ford is trying hard to kill this product on their own. Just checked their web site which shows that they have raised the ex showroom prices by around 80K to 90K on variants by variants basis.[frustration]

True New Fiesta costs 1184000 rs here in trivandrum, a similarly specd Rapid is just 1133000, what the hell are they thinking of, it was a good chance that the Fiesta would remain a silent enthusiasts choice till Ford releases something new here, this price hike is too much,
Very poor management by Fors India,

The fanboy in me says- a ford fan will get a ford whatever may come- price hike, dealer (lack of ) enthusiasm, no test-drive, a same spec VW/Skoda being cheaper, etc, etc.

Not always true,if that was the case a hardcore Ford guy like me should have already bought one by now,the big thing about Ford is that even as a drivers car it offered lot of value, a price hike or rs 10-30k is acceptable but 90k is like cutting the branch in which one is placed, its a clear message that Ford India management is ultra foolish,
I am still waiting for a good petrol Ford and with such obnoxious pricing I might switch to a VW Vento 1.2 tsi DSG cuz that costs just 12.22 lakhs here,I get the best gearbox, most powerful peteol, grrat average mileage, above average dynamics, super high interior quality too,
If someone looks at any country even our neighbouring Sri Lanka even they are getting Mustang and a lot of updates,India being 4th largest car market in the world,Fords decision could have been a lot better, such foolish decisions will make people move away from brand and imprint concepts like Ford is expensive
Now I dont have much hopes for petrol Ford fiesta as well,if they launch it too it will be like 11 lakhs INR for titanium if motor is 1.5 if its 1.5 ecoboost it will cost over 11.5 lakhs and for that kind of money Vento TSI DSG makes lot more sense.

I think im the lucky guy. I got the pre-facelifted Fiesta style variant for 9.35L OTR in Nov 2013 when Ford announced a massive discount of 1.75L. I knew that the facelifted model is has only updates in the front looks and the interior colours, the mechanicals remains the same.

Overall Im a lucky guy [:D]

The price hike is around 95K for titanium model, when compared with the launch price. But, the prices were hiked by 15000 in september & also in November. So, in january the hike is 65000 inclusive of excise duty hike.
I remember the sales person saying that Ford is selling the car in loss upto USD1000 per car , which I thought as a usual bluffing from salesman. But going by the multiple price hikes, I think Ford is trying to place the product in the right price range.
