Re: Are we Saying ECOSPORT cannot be used with AC?

Watch Video and notice the noise. I have not heard this in any of the cars driven ever or used all my life.

There is noise, Vibrations and you can feel it inside. I could hear sound good 30M away from car.

Car blower takes 10 Min + to warm the car.
They changed the motor and guess what...

Guess what in less than 200 KMS the NOISE the BACK.

Same issue was back to HAUNT.

This is why I said -

FORD = FORever DEFECTIVE

What about the thermostat?
I think this is a thermostat malfunction which sends signals of excess heat in delayed pulses, so the fan responds to it with increasing rpm time to time these error codes are sent, there is nothing else I can come up with for this, behaviour[frustration]

There is something to do with ENGINE HEATING. Usually happens when car is driven for over 1-130 Hours. Happens with AC on only, specially on a HOt summer day in Delhi.

Does heat reason behind it?

Yesterday on a short drive it did not happen.

WHY THEY CANNOT FIND IT???

Yes Ford ASS is not still on par with Toyota and Honda in scrutinizing and flushing out the actual issue, and hows the coolant level, is it normal? Also do check the oil level as well, I think its a thermostat malfunction
If there is a coolant or oil loss, it could be and engine based issue

New front end looks sexy like big bro Endy
Yes family resemblance and I like this thing a lot , specially the interior , hope Ford launches it within Diwali of 2017.

Thanks a usual. What is a shame is 10L car does not have a gauge for HEATING. Does a hot day with AC on lead to heating? They said I can drive car. Wont it damage the engine?

Also, everytime I go they top up AC gas. There is something wrong which possibly they not sharing, as I might say you took so long.

I will revert after I check coolant etc.

Thanks

A hot day with AC ON wont necessarily lead to engine heating

IF the FAN is not working its a problem, but if FAN is working its not a big issue, but do take care of coolant and engine oil levels as a caution every 2000 kms or so just to make sure the issue is not related to engine

Another possible issue is a resistor or a POT that might have gone wrong, if that goes wrong the FAN speed wont adjust itself based on the current input to the FAN, so whenever there is a signal to switch ON fan at a specified speed, the lack of resistor POT to control the FAN might lead to a short and excess current might pass through the circuit causing FAN to work in a low voltage high current situation, this is not ideal and can cause unwanted sound from FAN and possibly vibration as well as the compressor too are connected to this circuit leading to low current or voltage in compressor leading to vibrations,

SO my suggestions are to check the thermostat and the Resistor POT that controls FAN speed, a thermostat error usually should be detected by OBD but Resistor error might not show up on this,

Is this Normal? Final Call before I sell car

is this RPM shift with Noise and Vibration normal? Finally I guess I will sell this bug. 2 years and they cannot tell what is wrong. They had changed throttle body 2 years ago. However, said that was to please me and there was no issue.

This happens with AC ON only at idle. Else car is silent.

Planning to sell my car. Crap Ford ASS cannot resolve an issue in 2 years. TDCI ES Trend

I am yet to see it in any other car at Service Centre yet they say it is normal.

At times I feel a sudden lunge forward while driving but cannot prove it.It is too small.

Actually rpm shift is quiet normal, almost all cars do this specially when AC is turned on, but majority wont notice it
The Ecosport has a visible rpm shift because Ecosoprt uses a 110 cc AC compressor while most other brands resort to a smaller 90 cc AC compressor, so to power the compressor more fuel is used and when engine power bypass for powering AC compressor happens rpm shift does happen and its normal
But whats surprising is the FAN noise which is unusually noisy and I still suspect a thermostat malfunction or a resistor pot switch for FAN control gone wrong

Even i think it's the radiator resistor. I was going through many videos of the symptoms. If he's getting same blower speed at different settings then it's definitely the resistor.

Thanks guys. However,

1. Service center checked Thermostat and they said it is working normally and cutting at 94 C.

Is this not too high. I saw a video on youtube and it said 84 C is normal.

2. How to check for resistor pot fault? My heater takes 10+ minutes to blow hot air.

2. RPM shift is fine. How about frequency of it?

3. Ford said they have 1 fan while other cars got 2. So it will run frequently.

Which Fan noise you referring to? In prior videos?

How can I check error in hidden access menu? It is a digital gauge where Odeometer is shown. Please guide.

1. If FASS says that thermostat is working fine then it should be working fine as its just a test signal that responds with OK oe error in OBD for its working, and thermostat temperature actually I dont know the exact value for cut off

2. Check the Ecosport user manual page 76, there itself its mentioned that the idle engine speed will vary with different parameters to control emission, depending on AC needs, etc

3. I believe @ESmaniac has found the noisy FAN that makes that sound with bonnet open, if not OPEN the bonnet keep AC on after an hour drive or so and identify the region where the FAN works with that kind of noise and close to the FAN there will be its fuse and circuit box, possibly having size of somewhat 2 or 3 large match boxes.
