Absolutely there are no rattles with the retractable one. Why on earth did they even have to fiddle with something perfect. Infact it is one of the most helpful of features in the boot of an ecosport when your loading strategies differ. In my case whenever my pet dog travels (humans occupying all seats) he goes into the boot comfortably parcel tray retracted. Even otherwise its helpful when you need to put different kind of luggage to transport. It was actually one of the small plus points on ES for me to choose the car. Hope it remains removable atleast [surprise]
Yes its removable, and I too dont believe its because of reported rattles they removed it, I think its for cost cuttting, or some supplier constraint,
Ford Ecosport sold 3500 or so units April 2016 , thats strong sales despite hefty competition from Maruti Brezza,
See how Ford showed the way for lot of brands yet the parent of innovation dosent get the sales rewaed its bound to get, good to see Ford is working on after sales and service more and more,
The new set of adverts also has helped them a lot,
Ford needs one more market piercer to get noticed, a C segment sedan or an SUV to bridge gap between Ecosport and Endeavor, something like the Kuga with a 1.5l diesel would be perfect.
@ Golden my dog as said before is an alsatian and he too is super happy with Figos boot, its large 285l is biggest of all B hatch backs , nowadays I dont let him inside too much as his hair has started falling uncontrollably, and the sway material grabs and keeps hair attached to it, cleaning with vaccum cleaner and manually will only make it clean.

Just now received a recall mail from FORD regarding bundle clips for fuel and brake lines. Ford will replace the bundle clips with new one.
Hii buddy, hows the Ecosport now, hope she is doing fine,
Just update the experience, the thread has dried out with lack of updates.

^^ its doing great. After the engine work my car has clocked 4 K kms. Now the engine is super smooth and quit. Overall my car has clocked 47 k Kms. No major rattles so far. FE i am getting 19 - 20 KMPL in day to day run with AC.

I am planning to replace the tires at 50K km. Whats your advice on that ?

Yes thats good news, yes stock tires are good for just 40-50k kms maximum,
The new tire preferance varies from person to person, some like Yokohama Decibel series as they are quiet and comfort oriented,
Some like Mischellin LS3 for the better grip but adds road noise,
Bridgestone Potenza too same story,
MRFs are cheap and run long say another 35-40k kms,and provide, grip and comfort in average levels,I am not a fan of Goodyear,

Good move by Ford, as the ecoboost too had this issue, the brake line and fuel line clips were replaced,
Its always better to admit faults and rectify, so glad Ford made a recall and adressed the issue, anybody here got their cars to service centres, and any idea how much time they take to rectify the faults.

Fixed appointment with St Marks Road Metro Ford for the latest recall notice from Ford for break and fuel linking or pipe clamping / reclamping

Reached service point at 9:40 am
Received back the car at 10:35 am
Haven't felt any change with the way car behaves,

Just found breaking is better (this may be my psychological feel)
Checked with service advisor and found Next (5th) service is set to be done by either at next 4000 kms or by December which ever comes first, but am decided to do the service after driving another 2000 kms, as I have the habbit of changing oil at every 8000 kms
They said the 5th servicing procedure / activity is same like 3rd service (which will happen at 20,000 kms

Ford ECOSPORT- Plan to Buy

We have a Maruti Dezire (Petrol)around 8 yrs old now. Need to change to an SUV. Thinking of FORD ECOSPORT. our car running per day is 40km. Is it a good SUV? if so Diesel or Petrol. This will be our 1st diesel vehicle if we choose ,so guide us. Also it looks like there are lot of restrictions today on diesels in cities . We are in Chennai.

40 km per day in Chennai traffic means go with diesel, if its majority highway and minority drive at city go with the petrol ecoboost,
If budget is something thats a bother take the Ecosport 1.5 petrol Titanium, incredible value for money

IMO go for Diesel option. I doubt if in entire country such rules can be implemented or not. Your monthly running would be definitely justified for diesel option

I honestly believe the titanium to be a really good vfm. I would choose this anyday between creta, duster and ES. Regarding the diesel restrictions i think implementing it pan-india would prove detrimental to business and without any sufficient data to back it up, such bans would only be followed by prolonged court battle. So my view would be not to worry about these restrictions and go for it. If in doubt, just play the waiting game a bit longer. Should get clarity in the next 1 month or so.

Dear Experts

We drive from center of city to suburbs, its 8kms (city road) and 12 kms (highway). Even today the highways(around chennai) are crowded at 7.30 am and 5.30 PM.
Anyway if its diesel my only worry is diesels can't be used > 10 yrs right.

OK we are now thinking more about "FORD ECOSPORT" 1.00 L eco (or) 1.5L. I am not sure about the ECoboost since it has small 1.0 L engine for an compact SUV. Alto K10 has a 1.0L engine? Sorry for my ignorance here.

How about the maintenance cost as it is "FORD". ? is it better than japanese suv's in quality?
