Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Thanks MSN1.

Elite Ford (Marathahalli) is the dealer.

I am planning for Under body coating and Paint Sealant (is this required for Diamond White Color [confused]) from 3M HSR Layout.

I have 50K budget for accessories, so please suggest me accessories which are essential / enhance the look of car.
Take the engine (underbody) guard from dealer,
Get the 3m under body coating, paint sealent is good go for it and let us know the place for us to get

In my personal view too much of bling bling spoils the beauty looks, lot of crome is not good

Take bumper to bumper insurance, a safety kit, and get the fortuner like blind spot view mirror (available online in snap deal and ebay ) this will enhance the looks and help finding the blind spot and we can able to judge the front boonet length and breath while driving in congested traffic. (See attachment to know how it looks picture courtesy snapdeal)

Hi Srivatsan,

Congrats and welcome to the ES family.
My 2 cents on your query
1. Spare Tyre cover, - Dealer is expensive. Get aftermarket one. Same as OEM
2. Reverse camera with IRVM display, - Not required IMO
3. Scuff plates, - Get from Ebay or after market. If going for the illuminated variety, get from dealer. But do remember, if you have kids then its better to get the non illuminated ones.
4. Philips Extreme vision bulbs : Can buy online but as you are in Bangalore, you might get it in the shops. Easy to install DIY. There are some guides around. Google it.
5. 3D Mats. : I have gone for DIY noodle mats, based on guidance from Naveen and other forum members. Works best in Monsoon.

Thanks Roadster145 and MSN1. I will definitely take your suggestions.

Spoke to my SA today and he says Engine Guard is included by default in Titanium (O) Diesel models. When i asked him about the quality of Engine Guard, he says the one which is sold as accessories is the same comes factory fitted for Titanium(O).

As a titanium o owner i know its not the same, (even you can check it ) the default one is like cardboard kind of thing two rains is enough to peal it off; go for the fiber one it costs around 6k

Hi All,

My ES is the Trend variant and doesn't come with the roof rails.
I am confused if I should go for it, as an add on accessory.
Dealer price is 11,200 Rs.
I have got quotes ranging from 4000 - 9000 Rs for after market roof rails. All of them claim theirs is same as OEM. I haven't seen these personally - received the quotes on phone.

So, I am confused on two points.
Should I go for them at all? What is the general view? If i think of the X5, that has roof rails and when I think of Evoque, it doesnt. And I like both looks. What are your views?

Can titanium owners confirm that rails are only connected to the roof, at the ends? Or it's stuck to the roof all along ? Also, is it stuck or drilled onto the roof?

Oh. In that case, when push comes to shove a fiber sump guard would not be very useful.

My X-Trail had a solid metal sump guard and even that got battered after a few negotiations with speed-breakers and a trip to the safari park. Had it replaced.

Hi , I have ordered the 'Individual pack' (camera+rear spoiler+ led scuff plates) as accessories for my Titanium Optional ecosports.
The service center is quoting extra Rs 2.2K for "paint job" for the rear spoiler in addition to the cost of the "individual pack".
should I pay the extra amount? Can any one who has opted for the individual pack share please.
