Hi Naveen,

In case of tyre damage, I don't think you will get warranty for side wall damage for reputed brands like Michelin or Pirelli. Only Manufacturer defects are covered under Tyre warranty.

Can you please explain this statement posted in your ES review "Well to start off, this decision happened all too quickly. Wasn’t satisfied with the ownership cost of maruti which made me think of an alternative."

Regards,
Sankar

Maruti service was getting expensive after each service. Found other cars in my garage to be less expensive which are better brands.

Since it is a 40K service and total is Rs.9000/- and I feel this is common. Yes the labor might bit costly. I am sure the same 40K service of any other car and brand except Tata, Mahindra would be more than this

True. 20k service will be expensive but higher segment cars also cost the same or slightly more. My other cars even though their service is the same, it felt ok since it's entirely in another league.

Actually i felt maintaining a Maruti was still cheap after inquiring my Dad's friends. You have compared service cost of Maruti with Ford and still found Maruti to be expensive?

Ford was reasonable. Had fiesta before and was pretty reasonable. You are paying so much for other cars with so many features. My other garage rides includes a Vento (now sold) and Verna top end model. The service cost is pretty reasonable. Maruti hiked the service cost recently and many are facing the same problem. For a 5L car, the service cost is high IMO.

My Dad's friend's SX4 D which had done 1L kms was serviced recently. Service costs came around 17k. Service included - Timing Belt replaced, bearing changed etc. The costs sounded quite steep to me initially.

A friend of mine own the car accessories shop called "Hot Wheels" situated near to Infosys Campus near Technopark Trivandrum. He own an 2007 model Fiesta diesel which was also serviced recently after clocking 1L kms. Service bills were 67,000. After talking to him i felt Maruti's service charges were very reasonable.

Sankar

Many congrats for your Ecosport buddy. Wish you lacs of happy miles.

I was surprised to know about your Swift. BTW I am another Maruti guy who feel MASS is getting more expensive these days. Thanks to ever increasing labor charges.

Yes I agree with Naveen here that Maruti has increased its service cost recently and it is not that cheaper like earlier, but it is okay when you compare with Hyundai(I10 experience) or Ford(Figo experience)

Yes, they have only 3 nuts. The vehicle is a beauty and a pleasure to drive. The only issues I face as of now:
1) MRF - One tyre got busted and no warranty from mrf and ford. In case you have MRF, I would suggest you to replace it asap.
2) A pillar blind spot - It can cover an entire bike at certain angle.
3) Warning chime/buzzer is very quiet (low fuel warning and others)

Other than that everything looks fine.
1. Its Good Year for me.. Can't say I'm lucky, as I can say only the chances for any issues are less.
2. A-Pillar issue had been heard over several times, but need to get used to it! [sad]
3. Can it be replaced by the dealer?

Dont think they can replace it or whether they will even try? It's pretty ok but if you play loud music it cant be heard.
