Re: Force Launches "One" - The 140 BHP SUV

Guys, today saw a Black Coloured Force One.This SUV has serious road presence trust me.Infact,to me it looked even better in flesh than the Storme. If Force Motors can add more safety features,4x4 variant and one stripped down entry level variant as well, this should sell quite well in my opinion- Force brand notwithstanding. Also this SUV has Daytime running LEDs,which really add a touch of sophistication to the exterior looks,IMO!

Recently saw a Force SUV near Garuda mall, say about a month back, it was just like any other car moving on the road, Could not click pics that time

I was confused however, thinking that Force has started selling this

Yes it looks like a common SUV, but too lengthy when you are travelling in a bus!

Spotted: Entry level, cheaper variant of Force One SUV

The cut price variant of the Force One SUV loses its body colored bumpers / ORVMs, daytime running LEDs, chrome inserts, fog lamps, roof rails and alloys wheels. The body colored bumpers and RVMs have been replaced by low cost black plastic bits. Certain features would be taken down from the interior also to bring down the cost further.

In a bid to make it even more cost effective, Force Motors may just replace the power-plant of the SUV from the Daimler 2.2 liter diesel engine to a cheaper to produce unit. Rumors suggest that the new engine may be a 2.6 liter CRDI unit which currently powers the Trax range of people movers, producing a measly 60 bhp of power. We expect that force Motors would alter the oil burner slightly to deliver more power for the Force One.

The technology for the engine on the cheaper variant, however, is rather antiquated and in our opinion wouldn’t quite be able to satisfy the more refined taste of personal users. Modern engine technology has made oil burners smooth, quiet and very powerful, and most Indian car users have experienced it firsthand. If, however, the engine delivers good fuel efficiency it can catch the attention of taxi operators who would be interested in Force one if it’s offered at a good price.

We expect the new entry level variant of the vehicle to be priced at Rs 8 lakh ex-showroom or thereabouts. Expect the new car to be introduced to the market in the first quarter of 2013 itself.

Even with this stripped version, i dont think Force would be able to sell this in decent volumes. There are a lot of other cheaper options in the market which retail at 8-9lacs so why would anyone plonk their hard earned money in this truck!

May be the XUV 5OO caught them off guard, may be there were expecting the XUV to start above 15L mark - thats the only rational i could fathom. Cause if the XUV was over 15L then the Force one at just a tad over 11.2 (ex-showroom currently)
Very true, xuv introductory offer successfuly targeted f one, safarivx, prospective storme buyers and innova too.

Yes , DRLS really makes a difference and overall it reminds me of endy but storme front profile definitely wins the game here.

But to sell well they have to come up with top notch ASS and ASS schemes similar to chevy for next few year.
Stripped down and cheaper version can be helpful to win the confidence of vfm buyers and establish f 1 as a brand.

Re: Force Launches "One" - The 140 BHP SUV

We are told by Force motors there will be two versions coming shortly :- a base no frills version and a 4x4 - both potentially launching July.

I happened to see test vehicles too - unfortunately no photographs.

Re: Force Launches "One" - The 140 BHP SUV

The new price cut Force One variant will be suffixed with ‘EX’ as the new variant name

It will be officially launched next month in India.

It will be priced at around 10 Lakhs or slightly higher

Currently, Force offers two variants of their tall lanky Force One SUV – 6-seater and 7-seater. The Pune based auto major will be launching a lower variant of this Force One which will be tagged with the variant name as ‘EX’. It will NOT come with their latest BS4 2.2L FMTECH diesel engine. Instead, it gets a BS3 motor which will be lesser on power and torque along with refinement.

With a lower engine and stripping of many luxurious features like alloy wheels, DRLs etc, we expected that Force might be planning a shocker of a pricing in the range of Rs 8 odd lakhs. However, in a direct communication with one of Force’s top honchos, we have learnt that Force will price it at or slightly over Rs 10 Lakh ex-showroom.

For a comparison, here are the other two existing variant prices of Force One ex-showroom Delhi:

Force One 5+D: Rs 11,78,059

Force One 6+D: Rs 11,70,482

So, Force has plans to undercut this by somewhere around Rs 1.5-1.7 Lakhs for the EX variant. At around this price, Force will target rural markets and sell interior space and possibly frugality as the USPs of the new offering. Launch is scheduled for next month and with this variant Force does have high hopes of meeting their sales targets which were missed by a good margin by the current on-sale Force One.

Re: Force Launches "One" - The 140 BHP SUV

Yes, the price cut seems obvious since many buyers have other options to choose than the Force one. Sales figures for this vehicle seem to be less in numbers since XUV 5oo is its biggest competitor. Again if we go with the new variant for about Rs 10 lakhs, Renault Duster has always an upper hand it terms of driveability and Fuel efficiency. I agree it has captured a good market in the transport cabs (Force Tempo Travellers) but not much for a individual buyer like the Force One.
