BTW, had a trip to Gudiyatam (400 KMs up & down) for a wedding.

Guess the mileage? [;)] If the Trip Meter was set to "0".

Let me guess, around 19 -ish[:D]
Hahahahahha... I wish, but we are very wrong. The actual mileage as per Tank Full is 16.17... How do you like it? Then what is the Fuel Gauge showing up there? That's a big question. Though it's just an approximation, yet this approximate?

OT from this thread @ Figoian.

I think I spotted your car today in HSR layout in the morning @ 10.40 a.m. You were taking an U turn in front of an accessory shop, I passed by in my Manza.
Ohhh Yes... I was searching for the Automatic Car Wash there. You should have stopped me [:D] BTW, how did you guess? TAI sticker?

Absolutely nonsense, [frustration] can you try contacting Ford guys directly. I had googleed earlier and found many other owners have similar complaint of low FE. I had given some links also.

Pronto car wash? It was just next to the corner where I saw you. I thought of stopping, but you were going other way, hence did not chase you[:D]. Your car pics are there in the TAI meet thread and I spotted the sticker too.

Yeah, I know. But I don't believe in writing to Ford either. As per my personal experience in the past, they do the below steps -
  1. Call the Customer and get the details of the issue.
  2. Conference with the Concerned Dealer and would try convince the customer with what the dealer is trying to convey.
  3. Close the case based on dealer's inputs.

In this case, they will for sure suggest me to go for another Test, which they already have advised and I am not interested with the same.

Yeah. I found them finally, but wasn't worth a try.

BTW, you reside in HSR? I often do visit there to my friend's place.

No not at HSR but far South. I was on my way to Whitefield and had gone to HSR BDA for some work.
Oh OK. Will catch up sometime.

Frenz - Knowing the likely outcome from Ford India or ASS, I don't believing in taking it any further again. I see just having the below option.

  • Try Shell or Other Premium Diesels for 3 - 4 Fills and observe for any difference. If nothing changes, try taking it with Lathangi Ford, which I never have tried so far

What you all feel?

Either premium fuel or try a fuel additive with normal fuel.Try it for 3-4 tank fills, see if it makes any difference and report back.

@Figoian
I'm soon going to choose Figo Petrol ZXI (as my running is limited in city) and would love your advice on the choice. Also, can you please tell me what does one mean by FE and what original tyres are given by dealership?

Many thanks.

Buddy - Honestly speaking, Petrol Figo isn't recommendable at all, in terms of Performance, Power and most importantly FE. Best alternative would be Beat, i-10, Punto or Vista.

FE - Fuel Efficiency. In lehman terms, Mileage.

Figo comes with Apollo Accelere (Best), Good Year GT3 (Average), MRF ZV2K (THE WORST).

Well, if my definite running is about 450-500kms per month (not even daily), and expecting low maintenance costs (one-person drive) and also keeping for 5 years is fairly sufficient to choose a petrol ZXI model ?

Best alternative would be Beat, i-10, Punto or Vista.
Maybe (I am guessing) some cons outweigh their pros for these ones which may not be tailored for my expectations/use.

Can I choose with dealership to specifically give Apollo Accelere or Good Year GT3 or will dealership charge me more for my choice?

Thanks

@Topcop

For your need, a chevy Sail UVA petrol fits well with excellent spaces and ride quality and awesome 3 year warranty. FE reported(few owners at the chevy workshop which is my neighbor) is 14kmpl

@Gurrala74 Sir, appreciate your suggestion Sir.

However, it was one of the narrowed down choices and after discussions [frustration], filtered out few of those models (as per our usage and expectations) and finally fixated on Figo.

Well, I guess as Ford has renewed Figo with almost 114 upgrades/updates, we are hoping that its FE should be now acceptable enough though [roll]

@Topcap

I do not know much about the FE of petrol Figo as one of our member in the forum is struggling with low FE on his diesel Figo. And also expect to see and check the famous banging on speed breakers with 4 people loaded in Figo this is a soft suspension problem. If both are OK with you then go with Figo

TopCap - Why don't you open up a separate thread in this topic? So that many would pitch in with more and more suggestions. Since, this thread being particular to FE Issues of my Car, many may not visit here and also, we can keep in the crux of the topic for which it's opened for. Just a thought.
