@Hemantp 20k might be offset with any kind of corporate discount Fiat might offer, so I guess its still a win win situation for us, since most of the features can now be obtained with Dynamic it will be good to go for it. However its better to wait for some reviews about the car handling with the raised GC

The Punto looks pathetic with the increase in GC. In a way it's stance now reminds me somewhat of the Indica MK I. Talk about things coming full circle [put the head-banging-against-the-wall icon a thousand times here].

^^^ Has it come to showroom? Still not in Bangalore (at least Prerana)...

I am hoping 185 mm with Emotion (15") will not look so odd (wishful).

They have overly killed it by increasing the GC so much. I am just wondering what feedback have they got from customers. With my personal experience till date, I can surely say that current GC is not a problem at all, only the extended nose IS!!

I have not scraped till date and I had done that a lot on Swift earlier.

Anyway, increase in suspension *will* affect handling. It just can not be same as what it is now. It seems you can easily fit in 16" or 17" ers in those wells and still run them pretty fine.

I have seen the new OB color in Pune, but not sure whether it was for testing or are these models out for sales!!

Just got some info and brochure from showroom (Bangalore):

1) All colors except White and Red are now "Premium"
2) ABS is indeed available on DYNAMIC -- but only on 1.3 MJD versions
3) On road price in Bangalore ->
DYNAMIC = 7.42 L
EMOTION = 8.14 L

(Extended warranty, RSA etc extra/optional (Add ~10K))

Asked if any discounts, the SA said he will check with FIAT and get back.

Looking at these prices, I guess someone who was in the doldrums whether to go for one of these cars or not would now certainly walk away from them. Every manufacturer has a totally stripped out bare bones version of it's cars so I cant understand why Fiat is adopting this strategy? The Punto, especially, is now simply not comparable price wise with base versions of other hatchbacks. Fiat has got it all screwed up. A promise of inconsistent build quality, recurring niggles, poor after sales service and now combine all this with the added benefit of highest list price [frustration]! I am sure that in the days to come, this move would seriously backfire. Let's just wait and watch.

No idea about ZDi.

FIAT being arrogant (or foolish) here - making all colors (except Red, White) confirms that...

Most likely my plans of buying Punto are DROPPED now, will open a thread seeking inputs for a hatchback under 8 L range.

Also attached (Bangalore) price list for interested folks.

That is too much. Forget discounts, but extended warranty & RSA was free/complimentary for me when I purchased my 90hp in Feb '11.

White and red are non-metallic colours, so now they have all non-metallic colours as premium colours!

My heart bleeds as I type this but going at this rate, one day we may soon read the news of Fiat exiting the Indian market rather than performing well in it. I'm also willing to bet that this thread would see the maximum number of head-banging-against-the-wall icon henceforth. Here's one from my side[frustration]

Emotion and Emotion pack are different models. I have Emotion which is equal to current dynamic (which excludes Airbags, Auto AC, seat belt pretensioner, Bluetooth etc)

I just called up Fiat & the Concorde showroom in Hyderabad, below are the Ex-showroom & on the road prices for 1.3 MJD

Below prices are from Fiat Customer Care

active - 507000 Non premium color, 562000 Premium color
Dynamic- 621000 NP, 627000 P
Emotion - 683000 NP, 688000 P

On the Road Hyderabad from Concorde Motors

active - 6.55 lakhs
dynamic - 7.28 lakhs
emotion - 7.98 lakhs

The rep said the above on the road prices are tentative & might vary once they have full info with them. She said it might take a week or might have to wait till Feb for correct prices

Effectively I see a 1.17lakhs jump in prices of Emotion of 2012, the on the road for emotion 1.3 for 2011 model was 6.81lakhs (after discount). So I was right Fiat has laid the road itself to kill itself in the market once again & I might have to think over my budget now if I want to take Punto
