Maruti Ertiga bookings cross 10000 mark since 5 days of its launch

I think this "Superhit" debut of ERTIGA will force "Ford" to launch "ECOSPORT" soon.

I hope soo too but pricing is also a key somewhere I have a feeling ford will price it high looking at the features they are giving .

I hope "Mahindra Miny Xylo" & "Renault Duster" must launch before "ECOSPRT" So that "Ford" may not dare to repeat the mistake it did with "New Fiesta" (Rich featured Sedan).[lol]

23 April, 2012: Ford Ecosport, the first compact SUV from Ford India is nearing its launch. The fact is evident from the official Ford India’s website where Ecosport has been featured with more details. One can review Ford Ecosport completely from the website. Ford Ecosport price is expected to fall between Rs 9 lakh Rs 12 lakh. The cute looking compact car that was shown recently in the Beijing Auto show will come powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine. Ford Ecosport India will haul out as good power and torque as retrieved from a 1.6-litre engine (120 Ps-170 Nm) while maintaining fuel efficiency figures high. From the pictures of the show, it is gauged that the production version has not been tampered much in comparison to the concept displayed before. The production of this vehicle (new generation) which was globally unveiled in Auto Expo India, 2012, will start soon. Keep checking this space for the launch date.

But guess what Hyundai did launch the verna first still ford launched the fiesta with much higher price [frustration] I love the new feista it's a great car but it's not vfm and so the entire country rejected it . Ford priced the figo rightly and the country welcome it with open hands . Ford must not think that they have some amazing brand value in India .
They must give some imp safety features and price it aggressively and see the sales going in a super way.

Compact SUV is just a new segment...Only those player will survive here who will play wisely...If FORD overprice ECOSPORT...it must compete with existing SUV's which have more power & features than it at that price range.
