Wow great scoop carageous. The base model itself seems to be fully loaded to me.Except for ABS and Airbags ofcourse. Interesting thing to notice is that 1litre Ecoboost petrol is available only in Titanium variant. Don't really get why Ford is doing such a thing. A base Ambiente variant Ecoboost engined Ecosport would have been a top seller IMO.

This is one hell of a news carageous. First on internet I believe.
Ford has a winner in hand for sure unless they go fiesta way. Though ABS on base would have Bev a welcome move. Never mind though. Thanks a lot ES thread was getting dull for few days.

Price is something we need to start guessing (more accurately) now since we have the feature list.. The launch is for sure during mid may..

Feature wise everything is spot on, except the Ecoboost engine on in Titanium variant. The Trend variant can easily rival the top variant of any other brand IMO.

base models with 1.5L engine wont get the excise benefit whereas the top end model will get it cos of the 1L engine, right ??

Excellent Scoop.
I am quite surprised to see Ecosport base variant getting only front power window . Power windows is something which is basic requirement these days. And a car of SUV stature not having a basic feature, they must have a very good reason for it.

2nd variant from base is good enough to buy, abs + ebd standard

Also, is this new 1.5 engine different from regular ford diesel engines. I mean is it different from TCDi engines ?

The source says the pricing should match the price of i20, now when we say i20 I think we should match it feature wise. Also for any vehicle to be called a cheap (in a good way) the pricing of the base variant holds the key.
IMO the base variant should be priced in such a way that it gives ES a tag of inexpensive vehicle, there by adding premium to the following higher variants.
I personally want ES to be a big success & wish it actually flies off the shelves with a killer pricing lesser than the i20s.

PS: Hormazd Sorabjee had earlier quoted the price to be around 5lcs.
