Re: Exclusive! Ford EcoSport Makes Global Premiere (Pre-Launch Coverage: Pg.83)

@Sethumutugan S buddy we will but I will let you know my schedule that time . Today saw the ES at EA.

Friends today my long time confusion about the rear space is cleared as I checked it out in person today at EA . My decision of buying ES is confirmed now . Came to know that bookings will be opened by May end and deleiveries based on the first come first served . Also the initial waiting period would be less than two weeks .
One thing that turned me down was the absence of daytime LED in the Indian version. I liked it when I saw them in some test car . Also Indian version does not have Figo red color .
Another clarification still needed is the presence of cruise control in ES . Enquired the Ford guy about that and he replied that ES got if for sure . Then I further asked him that there is no steering mounted control like in new Fiesta. I asked him to show the control in ES he couldn't find it out if anyone here has idea on it do let me know friends .
Oops. I saw this post but forgot to reply.

Anyway congrats for your decision on buying ES. Pls keep us posted with your buying process.

BTW, pls look at http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...her-meet-27th-april-2013-a-24.html#post282496 post about our next meet. If possible try to join us.

Anyone wanna compare the Ecosport size?
Here you go.

Comparing with swift, not much of a upgrade for me [frustration] size wise. But I have not seen the vehicle in the flesh so wait and see.

Well at Mangalore ford dealer has said technician will be going for the training at Ford from 22nd this month and by the end of the month or first week we should be able to see the display vehicle at dealerships. End of May for sure will be available to drive! But wait still continues.

Yes, while comparing with Swift width and height are more are less equal. What about length?

Noted. By the way, the rear seat is best suited for two well-built adults.

Yes, Vibhor, many members expressed this already who have seen ES in flesh, but still there is always a difference just to sit and feel and travelling for a distance, both comfort levels will differ, so when you said road test, then actual situation can be known better[:)]

Length, I think Swift is shorter by 15 cms. In any case I think It would look almost comparable to swift. Where as Duster has bigger more muscular looks.

But having small foot print also has advantages in the urban riding conditions and Ecosport is a 'Urban Commuter' than anything else. But rear seat comfort will be the final check point for me to say 'Yes'.

Slightly OT: Sat on Amaze other day, its just amazing, it has a the same rear space as that of City IMO(Knee Space). I think Honda has done excellent job here. Even though Ecosport and Amaze are apples and oranges for most of the people, but definitely some chunk of customers will go for the Honda badge!

350Z as you too drive the Fiesta Classic yourself, i would really like to know how the Ecosport drives and how are the highway manners comparable to the Ford Classic. Yes again its comparing apples to oranges, but have heard that the Ford DNA of brilliant ride and handling is intact in the Ecosport and is absolutely brilliant to drive even with a mammoth 200mm ground clearance. Would like to know if there is any noticeable body roll on?

Have already finalized to go for the Ecosport diesel top end variant as a replacement for our Fiesta Classic diesel 2011 make. Will be booking on the first day itself when it launches.

@GM88

I loved your confidence on ES buddy !! hope it meets all your requirements and come out as a winner !!

Since it is a tall boy, body roll is expected, but some time back I have read some where that it is very minimal as one can't notice it much and a comfortable ride quality[:)]

ok my question:
if price permits I would be interested in buying the top es petrol model but I do want an automatic version. Would the top model be available without AT.

Also Can anyone tell if AT would be a better choice than manual, I havent driven an AT hence I am more comfortable with manual.

It does suit our requirements Gurrala74 sir. Earlier we had been looking for a full blown SUV's like Storme and Scorpio where as our requirement is a car with good ground clearance, not a 7 seater. Even a 4 seater will solve the purpose. Plus Dad was not comfortable driving the Storme,he liked the Scorpio but that one was discarded by me at once. We almost booked the Duster Rxl(o) 85 but went against it as my parents didn't like the interiors fit and finish and the metal sheet used is just not confidence inspiring, plus the immoral price hikes Renault has been doing all this time also puts you off.

Dad has been driving Ford's for last 7 years now without any break downs or shortfalls, so have a great amount of confidence in the manufacturer. Ecosport's short size will surely make it a boon to drive around in the city as well. Plus we really liked the cabin of new Fiesta, and Ecosport has exactly the same dash. So in all seem to be a perfect combo for our requirements. Waiting eagerly for it to launch now.

I have driven AT for about 10 years now and I love it, But it depends on your driving style. If you are more controlled and sedate kind of driver you would love AT. Sporty people on the other hand would definitely choose the MT. Based on the price offered, if its with in my range I would opt an AT. I think AT on Global Fiesta offers more mileage than MT petrol. So I would assume the same case here on Ecosport too.

I am of the exact same thinking as you are! [clap] But I don't want people comparing Ecosport to my Swift too [evil], so looks like I am bit confused till I actually sit in one.
