Ecosport to be launched in Nepal by the end of March 2013,India launch? definitely before that. Some details about the news in MYREPUBLICA.com news: GO Automobiles -- the authorized distributor of Ford vehicles for Nepal -- is planning to launch Ford Ecosport, a mini Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), by the end of March 2013.
According to the company, only petrol variant will be launched initially.
“The compact size of the Ecosport will fit well in the Nepali roads and we are hopeful that the new car will be loved by Nepali customers,” said Akash Golchha, director of GO Automobiles, disclosing the company´s fresh plan.
“We are expecting the car to enter the Nepali market by the end of March next year,” said Golchha.
Ford Ecosport is equipped with a new 1.0 liter 3-cylinder Ecoboost petrol engine that generates maximum power of 120 PS power and a peak torque of 170 Nm. The engine of the Ecosport is matted with 6 speed Powershift automatic transmission with dual clutch.
The SUV is environment friendly as it generates very low CO2 levels of 140 gram per kilometer, according to the company.
The new Ecoboost engine that is fitted in the SUV is a down-sized direct-injected, turbocharged petrol engine that provides the same output as that of a 1.6-liter engine. The major advantage of the new engine according to the company is that the engine provides the best fuel economy.
With the new 1-liter engine, the car is expected to provide mileage of 20 km per liter, adding that Ford has worked very hard to make the car fuel-efficient.
Ford Ecosport is expected to give a very smooth ride and is designed very carefully to provide a classic driving experience for the users even on the rough terrains.
The upright posture, soaring ground clearance, high bonnet, roof rails and sophisticated cladding are among various features that make the car eye-catching.
“Sleek LED headlights, pillarless rear windscreen and stylishly cut tail lights make this sporty SUV perfect for those consumers who want to stand out from others,” Golchha stated.
To enhance safety, the car comes with burglar alarm system, front passenger and side curtain airbags and inertial back seat belts. The car is equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, Hill Launch Assist (HLA) and many other advanced techniques to ensure passenger´s safety. ESP is a computerized technology which improves the safety of vehicle´s stability by detecting and reducing loss of traction.
“Though the car is loaded with features, its price is expected to remain below Rs 4 million,” Golchha added.
