This evening while being stuck in a traffic jam, I observed a Figo behind. It headlamps were on and resembled quite much like Ecosport. Just wondering if that is where the inspiration of Ecosport’s headlamps comes from.

Pricing & spares will be key though, else it may end like Fiesta; good car but bad pricing which made it a dud.
And who knows, if Ecosport fails, Ford can put spare tyre on Figo & name it Ecosport Classic. [lol]

In its latest September 2012 edition, AutoCar has driven the EcoSport and they say ”Ford’s baby SUV is Brilliant to drive“.

Fords were considered to be costly to maintain. But after Figo and Fiesta (classic) the scenario has changed. Ford has now become more popular with both this models and has gained a nice image in After Sales Service too. Some time before we were having the impression of those 'costly to maintain' Mondero in mind when we think of Ford.[lol]

Since its having an article about Ecosport I am also planning to catch hold of this AUTOCAR issue. But due to Onam Festival all shops are closed. Will try and get it tommarow.
But I doubt whether the same specs would be copies in our Indian version too.
The result of such copying would be exorbitant price[confused]. Because the features like cruise control, Hill Climb Assist etc would definitely add on the price a lot when it comes to India.

Little out of topic, Why our companies like TATA not trying to make such front & rear looks which are pretty Peppy[:)]

Becuase they make tata nano wonder in the automotive world and then their teams in uk (JLR) desgin the most desirable mini suv in the world range rover evoque .
has ford made a desirable suv like evoque and cheapest automotive wonder nano ?
Stick to the ecosport here no need to bring tata or any Indian company here in this thread.

Fiesta has / had 40% localization ecosport will have 80% localization that itself shows why the fiesta was expensive .
Again in my view it's not expensive it has boron steel body high class handling ,and many features worth the price .
It's the same between verna and fiesta like the xuv and aria hope you get the drift [;)]
The point is not if they price it high or low then duster infact they can because ES is much better product then the duster just see the pics you will understand . The only thing is will they use the 4 mm excise , and engine capacity benefit and pass on to the consumers that has to be seen .

the highlights
1)looks stunning in real[:D]
2) spot on seating position
3) were shocked to see a car with 200mm ground clearance handles likes a sports car.
4)fantastic brakes, steering ,great visibility.
5) can throw the car around corners with ease and confidence .
6)aggresive, imposing stance .
7)enough leg and head room for tall passengers.
8) ford has a winner if priced right will be the best ford sold ever in india.
9) rear sensors IMP rear visibility not good.
