the old one never fell on its own even when the carwash guy hit it many times while cleaning the interior.

"Muharat ho gaya
" [lol]
check this crazy guy. didn't even see to his left. applied brakes and abs got activated , swerved the car a little to the left. an activa behind hit the car (why did he hit the fender and not the bumper)
just saw his face with weird smile wit and drove off.

Re: Buying a Dashboard Camera – Advice & Discussions

Received the package today. If you have an option always use singapore post for shipping. Item arrives in less than 15 days.
Will update the video quality tomorrow.
Packaging and the build quality is good. The only thing i didn't like are the flimsy buttons but i used the buttons in my previous dash cam only once to set my preferences.
How is the performance? Do you have Viofo A119? Have you compared both? Is this the sameas below?

I am in the market for Car Dashcam. Purpose is for safety but majorly to make memories in form of videos of places I travel to.

I am looking at Viofo A119 v2 with both GPS and CPL module. Not planning hard wiring as of now, as I dont know any good mechanic on whom I can rely to fiddle with my car's electricals, and I dont have much knowledge for diy.

I plan to order in a week's time. I need your suggestion on if I should purchase it right away or as its already August, wait till October, to see if Viofo launches a v3 or A120.

Re: Buying a Dashboard Camera – Advice & Discussions

Anyone here using the Yi Smart Dash Camera? Anyone experiencing focus issues?
I know two TAIgers who use it - SanthoshS and gurubhai. Neither of them have complained about focus issues and I am amazed by it's night time clarity. Let me know if you can't get them to reply via PM, I have their phone numbers.

Just recently got it. Till now, I was using Yi Action camera as dash cam in my car. Yi action cam has pretty good video clarity. This Yi dash cam has brighter F/1.8 lens & 1/2.7" 3MP sensor with large 3micron pixel size.
It has very good light performance. Will update once I figure out the wiring in my car.

Best thing about this Yi dash cam is its starts recording once powered. You can use it as a personal cam powered by a powerbank. Has wide 165 degree angle lens whereas Yi action cam has 155 degree lens.

Looks like it's pixelating a lot? I even opened in YouTube at 1080p resolution to make sure I see it in highest uploaded quality.
I find some soft and out focus image in the center of the video. Its shot in 1080p30fps. Now i have switched to 1260p30fps. Have not checked out the footage yet.
Which Dash camera do you own? I am also interested in the Viofo A119 V2 and WR1. Both are good capacitor based camera. Also i am confused should i buy a action camera to use ase a action camera and occasional dash camera. Very confused.
Anyways, :offtopic: the Moroccan Blue Nexon was gliding along the rough roads with so much ease. Its looked quite planted. But its rear design is overdone. Rear windshield appeared nonexistent to me. Wish Nexon would have a bit more of the Hexa muscles.

Please check samples of SanthoshS here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDKeZNm7qtpeAEO_RX53VNg

I use SpyTec A118C, bought from Amazon US. I find it's day time recording to be OK and night time clips barely usable. You can find my samples here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3YwAqH2Eg-kbVhSBLZ5FaQ?view_as=subscriber

I would prefer to have a permanent dashcam for car and buy a separate action cam for occasional use. [:)]

If budget works out, i would order myself both Viofo A119 V2 and also a action camera (Soocoo C30R). But so far, after i changed my recording resolution to 1296p30fps and cleaned my windshield and the dash cam lens, the new footage looks much better. I guess a CPL filter would improve the video quality by decreasing the dashboard and A pillar reflections. You can also benefit from the CPL filter on your A118C. I already ordered 49mm CPL filter and lens cover and to mount it to the Yi dash cam, i have ordered a 37-49mm Step up ring as well.

Looking forward to a new sample.

I had the idea earlier but then dropped it as there was no CPL filter available for A118 models. Trying to use A118 V2 would mean it will be rubbing against windshield.
