The only disadvantage of this if this is connected to Cigarette lighter port is, whenever the car is off, the settings will be cancelled and date will be back to last firmware update some where in 2015 [frustration]. It takes 30 sec to 1 minute to set the date and other settings, before every journey starts. But if this is connected to battery, there are no issues.

This to me is a deal breaker. Also, would it not drain the battery if powered ON for long time?

Always happens with online shopping. Have you tried in ebay.in and aliexpress.com ? You may also want to check out the A118C model mentioned by CRACING, it is more discrete and has a capacitor to save the file in an emergency power cut.

No issues about battery drain. My friend said, the camera will be ON only when there is a movement in front of the car. and of course, the motion sensors might take little power, but that might be negligible.

As currently im in Germany, I am buying this model from here itself. Luckily this model also comes with a capacitor for storage of videos in case of emergency stop.

So i guess there are 3 variants one can choose from.
First costs around 1200rs which has just ok record quality.
Seocnd one novatek 96233 costs around 1700rs with good day quality but ok ok night quality.
Third one which i ordered costs 3000rs novatek 96650 with excellent video quality.
96233 is worth the extra price compared with the first one.

Received the package today. If you have an option always use singapore post for shipping. Item arrives in less than 15 days.
Will update the video quality tomorrow.
Packaging and the build quality is good. The only thing i didn't like are the flimsy buttons but i used the buttons in my previous dash cam only once to set my preferences.

quality is the same since the chipset is the same :stupid:
although there is a difference. the one i was using before used 230 mb for a 2 minute video and this one uses 180 mb for the same time.

Looking forward to your review of this too. How is the suction cup holding in rough roads/pot holes?
