First update for 2014.

Yesterday changed the battery. Details are (old battery was Excide which came with car)

Company and model
Amaron - Black

Warranty
12 months

Cost
Rs. 3250

Buy back of old warranty
Rs.500

Net cost
Rs.3750

Points for the new buyers those who are buying previous year manufactured vehicle for additional discount (if it is more than 6 months) pls make sure you get a new battery which is manufactured the year you are buying the car. For me it is only 2 years am using it but the battery is gone. I think life of battery is 3 years minimum. Since mine is 2010 model the battery also old. Even if could n't get a new battery we could at-least start a bargain. Hope in future this will help those kind of buyers.

I think your battery gone very early.

Usually battery will last minimum 3-4 years for a petrol car and 2-3 year for a diesel car.

Did you remember old battery manufacturing month & year?Also check the current one too? why you selected the lower Varient?. Amaron comes in 3-4 varients i think. Black i think lower varient with 18 months warrentee

Did you remember old battery manufacturing month & year?Also check the current one too? why you selected the lower Varient?. Amaron comes in 3-4 varients i think. Black i think lower varient with 18 months warrentee
Ya Releesh, I know it is too early for me. May be couple of reasons bundled together this could have happened

  • First of all I bought 2010 car in 2011 (almost a year after) and I do not know whether the battery was used in some other car in that idle period or whether it was disconnected in those time.
  • More than twice due to negligence the battery was dry fully (due to one single light left on)
  • Since there was no necessity recently the usage of car got reduced a lot. May be once in ten days I start using the car
  • When I visited the battery shop last week the guy told me it is dry without acid/water and he refilled
  • Poor maintenance also could be one of the reason. Yesterday, the guy told me to check one once in 3 to 6 months regulars.

Rellesh I went for this model since this is very unexpected and I had some earlier commitments which I can not skip or avoid.

Rellesh I went for this model since this is very unexpected and I had some earlier commitments which I can not skip or avoid.
I think what i marked in bold was the main reason behind the battery damage for your car and mine too.
I were using the car only in weekends and once i had given the car to nearest workshop to change the door glass channel beeding.they had used the power windows so many times and after repair i told them to check and fill battery water. After that i driven it only 2 Km and parked it for another week.Next time it didnt started and done recharging. But again after one week, though car started from parking refused to start in the middle of a traffic block in Kochi, made me to change the battery at the same day.

My car is more than 3 years old with 42k on the odo..Didnt replace it yet...I might have to soon

My dad's 4 yrs old sparky got a new battery in sep last after 56000Kms in ODO.

We too have Sparky LS model at home. This time finally my father allowed me to drive, he still think I am a kid in Patna and cannot negotiate with mad traffic of Patna.

My experience:
1: Very light steering.
2: No turbo lag
3: Decent pickup and mileage.
4: Ample legroom compared with Santro and Alto.
5: Good built.
6: Easy to drive in city.
7: Good power, it took six people without any fuss.But all six people were around 60.

-ve:
1: Require more race while reversing the car.
2: Odd and week horn.
3: Dashboard is little outdated.
4: Poor GC.

But I really had fun driving this and drove around 500 KMs in 10 days.And took it to highway and also dared to take into many narrow lanes where I could not have dared of taking my Ertiga.

Now I wonder why sale figure is not so good, may be the reason poor fuel economy.I got around 15KMPL in mixed condition.

P.S : I do not have experience to drive many car hence my observation is comparative with Ertiga.

that is great.

Yes its a lovely car. Those are the few -ives along with lack of thigh support and FE. But when we see the other +ives, those -ives are gone.

I have touched 120-130 in my spark. I used to get some shakky when am in 100 and after that it will be smooth.

if you maintain 80KMPH, am sure you will get 18-19. I think in my next long tiip am going to test it. Always, I zoom like anything and try to reach the destination ASAP. This time am not going to go behind speed, instead let me see FE also.
