The compact sedan looks great but lets hope it does not get ignored like the aveo. But the amaze will give it a tough fight.

The sedan version on Sail Uva platform looks much much better then other cars available say dzire,verito manza and others.Saw two test mules running inside the city two days back, looks spacious,better over all design which didnt looked like a after market job for the boot added, interiors though couldnt see much still looked better finished.Lets see what pricing GM offers.

I liked the exterior looks, it has replaced the gorgeous Aveo, though the interior plastics doesn't feel much good, and the back should have the design cues which is missing, something similar to the Logan.

Saw this car parked on the road in Baner, Pune. Could take only 1 blurry picture- was trying to guess which is this- absolutely no hints on which company it was-till I saw Sail Sedfan pictures. looks like it- only identification I could gather was honeycomb grill.
What do you think ?

Looking at the pics, new launch, still those old fashioned door handles, no steering mount controls and awkard placement of power window switches.[anger]

Sail Sedan has already hit the showrooms, i saw one maroon colored one and thought it was the optra, but after passing through multiple times it was confirmed as sail. waiting for the prices.

Chevrolet Sail sedan launched starting at Rs 4.99 lakh

NEW DELHI: Heating up the competition in the sedan space, Chevrolet on Friday launched its Sail sedan starting at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). While the petrol variants of the sedan will be priced from Rs 4.99-6.41 lakh, the diesel variants will range from Rs 6.29-7.51 lakh.


Based on Sail UVA hatchback, the new sedan will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki DZire, Toyota Etios, Ford Classic, Mahindra Verito and the Tata Indigo eCS. Like the hatchabck, it will have ample space and one of the largest boot with capacity of 370 litre.

The Sail sedan comes with a five speed gearbox specially tuned for Indian roads. The suspension has also been tuned for the Indian road conditions, maintaining sharp driving dynamics, claims Chevrolet.

The petrol motor is a 1.2-litre unit developing 86 PS @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4400 rpm, while the diesel Sail sedan is powered by the Fiat-sourced 1.3 litre Multijet engine which develops 78 PS @4000 rpm and 205 Nm @ 1750 rpm.

According to Zigwheels.com, the sedan looks exactly like the hatchback right up to the B-pillar and it's only when you move to the side that you spot the boot and the new 8-spoke alloys.

The interiors of the sedan are the same as Sail UVA hatchback. The width and the wheelbase are exactly the same and as a result so is the space.

Saw the Sail sedan few days back,and I gotta admit that it looks really good.Better looking than almost every other entry level sedan be it Indigo or Dzire .I think this should perform better in the box office especially when the hatchback sibling has bombed so badly despite having much coveted & sought-after multijet engine ,good looks,and huge space.Chevrolet need one more car to do well,as they can not be relying only upon the Beat to be their sole saviour,IMHO! The pricing is also very good,lets see how it does.My best regards to Chevy!
