Quite agree. Pricing for the Sail Diesel is at par with Dzire. Given the service network of Maruti, very few offering stand a chance unless and until you have a USP. A substantially low price can be a USP.. an angle I think GM is currently not interested in.
So at the end of the day, people will choose Dzire because of the Maruti Suzuki brand name.
Honda (with its Amaze) might be different though (atleast in the Tier1 cities) because of the perceived high quality and resale. But it too will not have numbers because its reach is limited.
BTW, the Sail sedan is a much better looker than the hatch.. has a good road presence and design wise atleast much ahead of competition.

IMO if Chevrolet can manage to market this car well, it can do wonders for them. Though their Beat has done good job in recent past and have helped them increasing their reach in the market but still Chevy holds good reputation as sedan manufacturer and they can do much better in the sedan segment. They only need to market this car well.
Then i would say he's a lazy fellow, doesn't have the idea to sell his cars. Just knows to comment on others, probably this is the reason why GM is still behind though their cars have much potential.

I agree with you on this largely, but Xover, things are really started changing from past couple of years and People are no more Herd(I do not agree on this word when people buy Maruti, it is a long term reliability, trust on a brand) and really looking to all new options and would love to own some thing different
@Vishwas: Karl Slym's tenure as GM Chevy India was very impressive.After his departure the sales of Chevy has fallen beyond belief.Remember "Aap Mere Papa se paise nahe loge" campaign.That was the brainchild of Mr. Slym.Calling him lazy and saying that he has no idea to sell cars in India is very dis-respectful dear,very dis-respectful,IMHO! You may have to rethink your words when Tata motors will come out of this dire situation with flying colours:-)

Dear, you have analyse things very much, please don't take it personally.But i did not find any good words from him. I have not seen one directly but,eager to see one if I get some time and I sense that it is going to lift Chevy in big way in that dzire segment and if priced well honda amaze too. I really await for your report on this Raja and important is the steering column position
The sail sedan looks great in real , infact in my personal opinion it looks miles better then maruti dezire , ford classic , verito and the etios .
The interiors also are perfect for its segment and way better then etios , verito and ford classic .
Space and proper boot is the USP of this car .
The LS(ABS) variant is the most vfm because it comes with driver side airbag , abs +Ebd , music system with Bluetooth connectivity and is just 8.27 lakhs on road Mumbai cheaper then etios and dezire . can be another 5-10,000 less if you buy insurance from outside
Driving .
The siting positing is spot on ergonomicaly also everything is perfect with tilt steering standard on all models .
Clutch and gear box
The clutch is super smooth in petrol version and quite smooth in diesel version too . The best part is the sleek gear box which slots like butter it has short throws and IMHO can be a benchmark in this segment for smoothness and sleek ness .and is joy to use .
The ac is extremely effective too .
The rear seat is super in space and comfort ( though not as comfortable as the manza ) has much much more space then dezire and is equal to etios .
The boot too is a proper boot and quite good in size too .
The best part is the driving both petrol and diesel are extremely easy and wonderful to drive the power delivery is linear and smooth and never ever the engine feels strained .
It has quite neutral handling and superb ride quality too . The nvh levels are also superb in its segment .
Best is chevorlet is giving standard 3 years warranty and 5 year warranty on engine and transmission .
The showroom had quite a buzz and many familes were delighted after the test drive and even booked it the showroom since yesterday has some 25 bookings .
The car has everything required to upset many cars in that segment .
If I was in a market to buy a nice good looking sedan I would have closed my eyes and bought the sail sedan , kudos to chevorlet for giving us a vfm sedan which has good features , great space and which looks superb and like a sedan .
