Hmmm surprised to see the figures of Honda , but this is just the beginning i guess hope they learn a lesson from now and introduce a diesel engine and also lower the prices!

But we can't say anything because these are only one month figures and sales figures are always bound to increase and decrease monthly we need to wait for few more months to see if low sales continue and then they teach a good lesson to Honda.

While Honda's sales are falling but it's all time competitor, Toyota Motors is enjoying a good time in India. Toyota Kirloskar has registered the sales growth of 77%. They sold total 6001 units, including 922 of Fortuner as compared to 3386 units an year ago. Cumulative sales for the period January-April 2010 stand at 24,894 units, recording an increase of 95 per cent over the same period last year. Audi India's April sales jump 69%
Car maker, Audi India, today reported a 69 per cent jump in its April 2010 sales at 189 units as against the 112 units sold in the year-ago
period.

May Sales

Maruti sales top 100,000 a month for first time
Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday reported a 27.9 percent jump in sales for May at 102,175 units compared to 79,872 vehicles
it sold in the year-ago period.

This is the first time the car maker has ever sold over 100,000 units in a month, its previous highest monthly sale figure being 96,650 units in February.

Sales in the compact car (A2) segment comprising Alto, Wagon-R, Zen, Swift, Ritz and A-Star grew 16.6 percent at 62,679 units over May 2009.

Sales of models in its mid-sized (A3) segment comprising SX4 and D'Zire rose 60.5 percent to 10,883 cars while it sold 12,953 vehicles of its C segment which comprises of Omni, Versa, and the Eeco which was launched in January this year.


Hyundai car sales up 15.5%
Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country's second largest car manufacturer continued good sales with the domestic sales growing by 15.5% over the same month last year.

HMIL's total sales for May, 2010 stood at 46,808 units as against 43,624 units in May, 2009 registering 7.3% cumulative growth. The domestic sales accounted for 27,151 units as against 23,503 units in May, 2009 while the exports declined by 2.3% from 20,121 units in May, 2009 to 19,657 units in May, 2010.

The segment-wise cumulative sales for the month of May, 2010 are as follows: A2 segment (Santro, i10, Getz & i20) 42,460 units; A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 4,310 units; A4 Segment (Elantra) 1 unit; A5 segment (Sonata Transform) 37 units; and SUV segment (Tucson) 0 unit.

GM India's May 2010 sales grow by 61% at 8,225 units

The May 2010 sales comprise of
2,812 units - Chevrolet Spark,
2,296 units - Chevrolet Beat,
1,418 units - Chevrolet Tavera,
854 units - Cruze,
396 Units - Chevrolet Aveo,
312 units - Chevrolet Aveo U-VA,
84 units - Chevrolet Captiva and
53 units - Chevrolet Optra.

Tata Sales - May 2010

The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 23,489 nos. (21,326 Tata + 2,163 Fiat) in the domestic market in May 2010, a 42% increase compared to 16,563 nos. (15,388 Tata + 1,175 Fiat) in May last year. Sales of Tata passenger vehicles were 21,326 nos., a growth of 39% over May 2009. Sales of the Tata Nano were 3,550 nos. The Indica range sales were 8,468 nos., lower by 15% over May last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 6,600 nos., a growth of 133% over May last year. The Sumo/Safari range accounted for sales of 2,708 nos., higher by 6% over May last year.
