A new interior for Punto?!?! I am really looking forward to a new interior I am not too happy with the current one when I saw it in the showroom. Any idea when the new interiors will be introduced in Punto?
Refreshed Punto is on its way. But as of now, there is no clarity regarding - When it will be launched? (may be in @ 3 months) What would be those 'refreshed' features it would be carrying? (may be refreshed interiors with same engine specs)

Despite huge efforts from Fiat management and depite several new dealership opened Fiat is unable to sell any cars. Both Linea and Punto are world class cars,be it safety, looks, ride, handling, yet thanks to the old perception about Fiat people won't touch Fiat and eventually go for Suzuki.Fiat needs to burn the midnight oil,and do whatever they can to change the brand perception.Yes I know, its easily said then done!

Xover, I agree with you , but just try and understand why Fiat is doing this opening new showrooms and service centers across India. The biggest problem was the service thing for Fiat since few years, so simply now they are working on opening more service and sales outlets to be very near to existing Fiat customers which will help them serving better and improve their image like Maruti as A.S.S. is their biggest USP. So in next face they try to introduce more vehicles in Indian market and I feel they are going in a right path which they were missing since quite time.[:)]

The Fiat Group is well known for its diesel engine development starting from 1997, when the manufacturer came up with a common rail turbodiesel engine named as uniJet Turbo Diesel (JTD) engine. Later in 2002, the Fiat Group introduced the second generation of the common rail JTD unit named as Multijet diesel engine with an advanced technology featuring electronic injector control providing improved control of combustion noise, reduced emissions and increased performance

The 1.3-litre Multijet engine is a great example of advanced diesel technology and is offered in 75 PS and 95 PS versions (with VGT). The latest offering by Fiat is the new Multijet 2 diesel technology introduced in Fiat Punto Evo in 2009, which further improves the fuel delivery process. The new technology can manage up to 8 consecutive injections with accurate metering. Multijet 2 technology now boasts a new system of injection pump and solenoid injectors, which will improve the capability to control the fuel flow, cut emissions significantly and provide low range torque.

The management of multiple injections and better flexibility with reduced noise and fuel consumption over earlier Multijet system helps Multijet 2 technology to fulfill the Euro 5 emission standards easily. Multijet 2 diesel engines are planned for the Indian market next year and Fiat will offer the new engines in the next generation Punto and Linea, which they plan to launch next year. We can expect other car manufacturers to get Multijet 2 technology featured in their vehicles soon after the launch of Fiat’s upcoming Punto and Linea. The company is betting big on Multijet 2 engines to boost sales of its future cars.

Fiat aims 25,000 vehicle target, Abarth to be produced in Pune

Fiat India plans to build its premium hatchback Abarth at its plant Ranjangaon near Pune as it aims at selling 25,000 vehicles in 2013. .

Fiat has plans to launch nine brands during the year, including two luxury SUV models "Wrangler' and Grand Cherokee to double its sales. This is in addition to bringing the Jeep brand and work on an entry level SUV and a mini Jeep for consumers in the country.

Fiat, which will go solo from April 2013 in India after its split with Tata Motors, plans to add exclusive dealerships, especially in South India, where there is a significant customer base. The Ranjangaon plant can produce nearly 200,000 units a year and Tata Motors plans to make its export vehicles over there.

"We did slightly more than 10,000 (in 2012), but it was a year of transition. In some regions, we are not present at all. We wish to have 1 per cent of the market which is seen to touch 2.6 million units this year. Our objective is to sell 25,000 units," Fiat India Managing Director Enrico Atanasio was quoted as saying.

Fiat India eyeing a two-fold in its market share with new launches

Fiat Group Automobiles India Private Limited (FGAIPL), a completely owned division of Fiat Group Automobiles SpA, Italy, is planning to two-fold its current market share by introducing three new models in the auto market. Reportedly, the new launches will include a car model and two jeeps, which will surely pull volumes for the auto maker. The car model is expected to be ‘Punto Abarth’, which is believed to enter the Indian auto market somewhere in late first half of 2013. Besides, the launch of ‘Wrangler’ and ‘Cherokee’ jeep brands would take place somewhere in October this year, as confirmed by senior company officials.
As per reports, the ‘Punto Abarth’ will be produced at the auto maker’s Ranjangaon unit in Maharashtra. In order to meet the demands of a large number of buyers, the Italian auto maker will be launching its new hatchback in both diesel and petrol guises, whereas the jeep brands are expected to be brought as Completely Built Units (CBUs).

Reportedly, the total size of car market in India is 2.13 lakh units per month, wherein Fiat India rejoices with just 0.5 per cent market share and is now looking ahead to double the figures. Speaking on the same lines, the Managing Director of FIAT Group Automobiles India, Enrico Atanasio was quoted as saying, “We are confident that we will touch 1 per cent by 2013 end.”

He further said that the auto maker is also looking ahead to introduce new models in the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment by the end of 2015. Along with the launch of new models, the car maker is planning to increase the number of its exclusive dealerships to 65 by March 2013 and 110 by the end of this year. Currently, the auto maker is marketing its models with just 20 dealerships in the country. The Indian product portfolio of Fiat offers two models, namely Linea and Punto, which are produced under the partnership of Tata-Fiat.

Industry experts believe that the launch of new models in the Indian auto industry will surely change the game for Fiat as it has not been able to create much impact on the hearts of Indian buyers as of now.

Two door car picture is just for a sake of a picture i guess or if fiat would not commit a mistakes than who else would do ...[lol]
True, Fiat is official "mistake realization reference" for the auto globe.

But I admit, I am a fan of them, they still make affordable driver centric cars like none. If not fiat it would have been bikes only.
