I changed my carb, cause of a faulty secondary(it was stuck). Although a new secondary was available I changed the entire carb keeping the old one as an extra for a rainy day.

So new carb was added after 14 years.

Hi Jarpickle,

Thanks for the detailed reply, How much does a new carb cost & which brand did you buy?

Your car has run very less (35000kms I guess), then why did the carb fail? Because mine has run atleast 1Lakh kms. Not sure if it is the OEM one in my car.

M800 Wiring Harness renewed - YouTube

Here is a small Video of my car rewiring in progress along with the close up of carburetor. I will avoid taking Videos at night from now on [frustration]
hi ss80 if the coolant leak is from the top where the aluminium holds the plastic case then it is because of the lack of sealing which is common if the radiator has been given to local mechanic for cleaning because they remove the aluminium holdings and again fit them (rough handling) so since you are giving so much investment i would suggest you to replace the radiator
cost of radiator MGP is Rs 1200. like to see how your car looks after DIY[clap]

The carb didn't fail. The secondary butterfly does not open until you regularly hit speeds in excess of 90 kmhp.

I had to follow some stringent rules set by my passengers while driving, if you know what I mean. The carb works just fine, its the secondary that was jammed. You can drill it out and fix a new one or just buy that lower plate which contains the butterflies(throttle plates).

Since I have always wanted to mess with a carb I got a new one and kept the old one as a spare.

I paid Rs4000 for a new carb.It is a Ucal Mikuni one.

Hmmm okay I got it. I just hope my carb runs for some more months [confused]

That was very useful info, I am also thinking of replacing it instead of figthing with the old one day & night & worrying about collant leaks.

Are you sure MGP part is only 1200/-, usually everything with the MGP tag is costly.

Tomorrow I may be purchasing the complete High Tension chord kit & will have to check the wiring around Carb once again. Vitamin M is deciding the pace of my work now [:D]

Yes yes, bought the chord kit (Delphi Brand: Rs.260/-) & front two door handles (150/-) and some plastic tags to hold the wiring in place.

Here are some pictures. WIll fit them tomorrow and check if the idling issue is solved.

The re-wiring is complete, a bit of misfiring still exists. Drove the car after almost 3+weeks. Took it to a service station & water washed in & out. Took almost 1hour 45mins & charged me 320/- for that. I am happy about the job done except in a few areas.

I will post pictures by tomorrow. Guys I need to know how to fix the rear quarter panel glass (with new gasket/beeding/ that rubber part). Please share any link/Video/website that can help me out.
