I did a Pre-registration inspection at the stock yard over the weekend. Here are pics that should be useful. This is the Twilight Grey truck ...

Here are my impressions from the pre-registration inspection. I drove for about 500 meters in the stock yard, since the security person would not allow the car to move out of the yard. On a cold start, the engine NVH levels inside the cabin seemed improved as compared to the 2012 model. The gear shift was also smoother.

I tested the roof A/C unit and found that the blower did a good job at rows 2 & 3. The engine bay seemed clean, & I left the fluid level inspection for the PDI before delivery. The stock tyres are from CEAT (Formula 1) and seemed thinner, a 235/70/R15 would have been nice. The hub cab is pretty and adds to the overall beatuy of the beast. The black exterior pillars in rows 2 and 3 are a welcome sight.

I did not have a chance to play the music system. The warning sounds for seat belts are now not as irritable as before and goes away after a few seconds. I did not find any scratches on the body and the odometer reading was at 37 Kms.

For now, I think these are first photos on various forums.

To be honest, those decals on thered Sumo are looking as if passengers (Tata cosmetics design team)were suffering from motion.sickness & they vomited while traveling at high speed through the open windows .And when.they stopped and alighted, finalized the design of decals, just out of relief found .

In decals or decoration department tatas can not beat m &m be it bolero ,scorpio ,Armada ,see how simple yet aesthetic it looks on bolero

Decals on any car is very " wannabe " and you are right they look nicer on the bolero ..
On the new sumo they are so bad upto a extent that it might effect the sales figure too IMHO . [anger]

It is not easy to remove the vinyls . The paint can come with it .
The car being new, i think we can easily peel off using car shampoo.

Is the Sardinia Red colour still available in the GOLD?
Yes it is avaliable, in fact when you open their website, the first sumo you see there is the signature red color

Maybe they could have given something else and made the decals as optional.

So far i haven't seen any of the newly launched Sumos on roads (due to market slowdown?)

But they have to make something serious to their Grande.

I think Bolero is getting a facelift next FY, can anyone confirm this?

Damn! I had a bad feeling in my gut that they will stop Sardinia Red.It was such a good looking/rich colour. And now the above post clears it.This red looks no where as good as the sumptuous looking Sardinia Red coloured GOLD:(

BS /michelin better brands than ceat on lifespan front ,theirs subcategories turanza ,potenza ,xm etc are better on handling ,comfort fronts than CEAT . Moreover automakers provide basic purpose serving tyres as OE fitments .

Thar/Bolero owners: Your feedback please....on the info below please [surprise]

I got to know that amongst the Mahindra vehicles if you happen to purchase the Thar or Bolero it is actually driven from the nearest plant which for example in case of Bangalore is Hubli/Dharwad. So when the vehicle is initially delivered to the owner it will actually have a odometer mileage of say something like around 400kms. How true is this? & is it true for all dealers or some dealers try to take you for a ride? & importantly is it acceptable? They say that the mahindra drivers will drive it carefully.
