If you care about the looks of the body of UV - Buy Bolero;
If you care about your own (& passengers) body - Buy Sumo Gold.

Just a curiosity question !! Why only Sumo and Indica are used for all the IT cabs, why not Bolero ??
Because Sumo is a 10 seater (Bolero too has,but not preferred) and according to the owners of these cabs, they say Tata costs less at maintenance.
Another reason is that Bolero has cramped interiors whereas Sumo is a water-tank

Indica comes with lesser price in diesel category so they are preferred.

@ Gurralla - also the reason is indica and sumo carry more people in much more comfort .
True to an extent, but the rear bench in Sumo is the worst place to travel.

It (3rd row) is worst place to travel for any UV, including Fortuner. Ford Endy is even more horrible. Even a dead man will get down & wait for rickshaw.[lol]
+100
In comparison to sumo all rows in bolero including drivers seat too is horrible , cramped if you pull the drivers seat back I doubt anybody can ever seat comfertable in the rear seat of bolero .

To be honest I was a huge fan of bolero but after driving it all the liking I had for bolero went in drain .

I agree to all of you on why Sumo and why not Bolero, but one thing I felt personally is that

as mentioned by Viswas and others, on a lost row seating is very bumpy to me in a Sumo and though it was very cramped in bolero, but it is not bumpy and I am not jumping from seat[:)]

This is purely my personal feel when I sat in both !!

It will be more in sumo and less in bolero becuase of the desgin too . Infact stability around corners will also be more in bolero . Bolero will be more stable then a sumo it's more longer and shorter then bolero .
Just the ergonomics are bad in bolero and that dosent give pleasure as a driver or a passenger otherwise bolero is a kick ass vehicle too.

I see that a lot of people are comparing GOLD with old Sumo/victa.Guys GOLD is a totally different beast. Here are some of its high points over victa:

1. Much powerful 3000 cc cr4 engine with class leading torque of 250 nm and 85 ps power. It is much more fun to drive than old sumo and even bolero.

2. All new suspension with anti-roll bars for better ride/handling experience than before.

3. Better NVH levels than before.

4. New colours/decals to give it more polished look alongwith tweaked front facia.

And extremely small turning radius .

simply because of liberal space and acceptable comfort level
Koshik sir,

Navratra is coming,so have you decided to book GOLD? My suggestion to you would be to wait for Storme.I think it has all the potential to become a best-seller and also would meet all your requirements aplomb.

PS: Except providing 3000cc engine under 10 lac rupees, lol.

Here are some snaps of our decade old Sumo (13 years nearly now) with next to zilch maintenance, a rugged workhorse, still starts with just one key of the ignition, brutally abused, war torn and neglected but does its job faithfully - one of the most reliable Tata cars produced i will add - never complains just keeps going on and on.

I think Raja mentioned it somewhere too, so thought of posting some pics. Please dont abuse me for lack for care, its meant for farm duty in harsh terrain, the very fact it has survived this long is testament to it!

@Ironrock,may be accident of nature or one of its kind.

I am yet to see good words from sumo owners other than this.

They are noisy troublesome and unreliable comparatively against bolero.
