Polarity means which wire (out of the two stuck together in a speaker wire) to connect to which terminal on the speaker. The stock speakers are not good for mids/bass reconstruction. I'd suggest you to go for a decent pair of components in the front and if your budget permits drive them with a suitable amp.

freakdude.
Right now I only want to install a decent set of speakers .That's the reason I went for comp as the shopowner told these are the best. The speakers at the front sound OK but its the rear one that is troubling me.Is it possible that the default wiring in Verna is in such a way that the front speakers are louder than the rear ones??

Thanks

I don't think wiring has to do anything with this. Find the fader settings on your HU to see if the fader is set to fronts.

I have checked the fader. When I set it to R10(thats where my comps are) the sound is very feeble and when I set it to F10 its very loud.
hi,
yes the rear output is weaker compare to the front.
Front speakers are 25w rms and rear are only 15 rms and i guess they have set the outputs according to it from the HU.
btw never heard of infinity primus series before.

and you are running components (~90 rms) at 15 rms power , so you will never able to get louder sound. you have to add 4 ch or 2 ch amplifier to run it IMO.
or connect it at front channel but this will not help much. adding amplifier will resolve your problem fully.

Anyone has any knowledge about this

hey phoenix

that is a maxxsonics mx1 high to low level converter

its a premium product and has a lot of things to tweak and adjust

advisable to buy this if you are buying some super expensive speakers amps

and woofers

DVC(Dual voice coil) is good for monoblocks.
For 2 ch amp ,SVC(single voice coil) is good.

The reason you are not getting punch is ,
your sub is DVC 4 ohm , connected in series(you cant connect 4 ohm DVC in parallel with 2 ch amp -if so it would have been blown by the time) ,

So , in series your sub has 4+4 = 8 ohm impedence.
Now because it's 2 ch amp , it's bridged so impedence becomes half here.

So final impedence of your sub is 8/2 = 4
now at 4 ohm your amp will provide very less power.
the only thing to remember is only 4 ohm DVC subs are --NOT-- good with 4 CH amp.
but DVC 2 ohm or DVC 8 ohm sub can be connected for good output with 4 ch amp too.
I'm expecting my Verna in the coming month.[clap].
I've bought a RF, 5-Ch amp @ 2-ohm, to run all 4 speakers and a DVC 4-ohm Sub.
My concern is, since all 4 channels are allotted to the speakers and only one dedicated channel is available for the Sub, can it be considered as a monoblock?

I'm suggested by the RF wiring wizard to interconnect the Positive to Positive and Negative to Negative of the sub and then connect the mains to it.
Will this make a Parallel or a Series connection?

Is there any other, better wiring option available that would enhance the performance of the sub to get best possible SPL? (I just love the Window Shattering thump)[evil]
Can I/Should I Bridge one of the speaker's channel to the Dedicated Sub's channel?

Also, pls suggest, which is better, a Component speakers or Co-Axials and what should go in front and what in the rear?:stupid:
I want to have some nice speakers for balanced SQ and SPL.
I'm unable to determine which companey's speakers are good for SQ & which for SPL...

if the last channel is class D then it can be considered as monoblock.

All positive connected to the positive of the amp and all negative connected to the negative of the amp = Parallel connection.
it will give 2 ohm load on amp for DVC-4 ohm sub. As you have 5th channel for the sub , you can connect it this way and get maximum output.
This is parallel connection for your sub - http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutch...nter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg

The series connection on DVC 4 ohm sub will give half output then parallel.

Dont bridge speaker channels with sub channel. i mean if you want to bridge sub then you can bridge it to like (ch 1 : ch 2) OR ( ch 3 : ch4) like that but not with ch 5. ch 5 is different then all other 4 ch.
And if you are BRIDGING your sub , you cant do internal parallel connection in sub. you must do in series.
Parallel only with ch 5.

SQ brands for speaker are polk audio , hertz , focal and helix etc.
some other good brands are infinity , mutant , rockford , kicker.

congrates for the car and ICE in advance.
post some pics of car and [music] both.

Components are way better in sound reproduction that co-axials. Go for components in front if you'll be driving it most of the time. Rear doors/parcel tray can have the co-axials.

As stated in my ownership thread http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...crdi-sx-white-my-experience-6.html#post160609 , In 3-4 days i am upgrading my ICE so need all your expert advise , I am noob in this field !

After talking to shopkeeper( yet to bargain ) i am thinking of ...
JBL 4 channel amp @ Rs5500 , Infinity/JBL components at front @ Rs 4500 , JBL/Sony 8" woofer + enclosure @ ~ Rs5000 , fitting Rs800 and wiring Rs1200-1500 .
My budget is around 17-18k for the ICE upgrade and i dont need to show off the loud boom boom effect , just for my listening pleasure !
