DVC(Dual voice coil) is good for monoblocks.
For 2 ch amp ,SVC(single voice coil) is good.
The reason you are not getting punch is ,
your sub is DVC 4 ohm , connected in series(you cant connect 4 ohm DVC in parallel with 2 ch amp -if so it would have been blown by the time) ,
So , in series your sub has 4+4 = 8 ohm impedence.
Now because it's 2 ch amp , it's bridged so impedence becomes half here.
So final impedence of your sub is 8/2 = 4
now at 4 ohm your amp will provide very less power.
the only thing to remember is only 4 ohm DVC subs are --NOT-- good with 4 CH amp.
but DVC 2 ohm or DVC 8 ohm sub can be connected for good output with 4 ch amp too.
I'm expecting my Verna in the coming month.
.
I've bought a RF, 5-Ch amp @ 2-ohm, to run all 4 speakers and a DVC 4-ohm Sub.
My concern is, since all 4 channels are allotted to the speakers and only one dedicated channel is available for the Sub, can it be considered as a monoblock?
I'm suggested by the RF wiring wizard to interconnect the Positive to Positive and Negative to Negative of the sub and then connect the mains to it.
Will this make a Parallel or a Series connection?
Is there any other, better wiring option available that would enhance the performance of the sub to get best possible SPL? (I just love the Window Shattering thump)
Can I/Should I Bridge one of the speaker's channel to the Dedicated Sub's channel?
Also, pls suggest, which is better, a Component speakers or Co-Axials and what should go in front and what in the rear?
I want to have some nice speakers for balanced SQ and SPL.
I'm unable to determine which companey's speakers are good for SQ & which for SPL...
