@ Niel and @ Kunal... i am thinking of the following :- I want my SQ to be above avg. Cannot spend miore than 20k ...

1. Polk Audio 6-1/2" Coaxial Loudspeakers with Poly-Mica Cones (Pair) - 5k
or
2. Rockford Fosgate PRIME R1652-S 6 1/2 around same price 4.5k
or
3. Kicker DS6.2 (11DS6.2)6-1/2" DS-Series 2-way Component Speakers System- 5k

Sub-

1. Infinity Reference 1260W 12" Single 4 ohm Reference Series Car Subwoofer- 4k

or

2. Kicker - Comp 12" Single-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer - 3.5k

Mono Amp

1. Sound Storm 1500W Max, Evolution Series Monoblock Power Amplifier
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 600 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan.

I am getting this cheap at 6k. As its just 1 sub and i think will be easily able to amplify that.

You can suggest me Amp for the speakers... Awaiting response as i need to order them soon.

thanks

sorry for late reply. i was not getting email notification for updates in forum.

it's really hard to choose from the products you have told.

for speakers my first choice will be polk.
sub - i am using infinity 1260w. sounds really good. but kicker subs are good too. so it depends on you.

the rms power you told is double then the sub requires. so if monoamp is good , it is sufficient enough to drive two same subs by this amp.

if you just want speakers , go for focal same as kunal has purchased.

but you are wrong about that , the amp gives boom boom in car.
actually amp decreases boom boom , as it let us set the speakers to play within in its limits but still louder and clear. because it has filters that removes those bass frequencies which cannot be played by speakers simultaneously with vocals and provides that extra power to the vocals.

so good matching amp and speaker is good choice then just the speakers. and in addition our stock HU is not at all good in output.gives very less power not sufficient for any speakers except they have provided so it will be waste of money if you just buy good speakers without amp.

if you can spend 15k , it enough to buy 4 ch amp and good speakers.
you will get infinity or rockford comp within 6k and JBL or kicker 4 ch amp for 9k or less

It doesnt matter. But I dont like it under the front seats so my both amps are in boot. Just make sure grounding wire for amp must be less then 30 cm.
Infinity reference series comp , you should get for 6k not more.
And it depends on which model it is.

it seems to be very good balanced choice.
if you are going for alpine coaxial then it will be good to go with alpine comps too.
i think you will get alpine in US easily and cheaper plus original too.

rockford foastage T800 is very good amplifier.
How much RMS power your two ch sony amp provides while bridged ?

I think it is 150 rms while bridged. I had same sony 2 ch amp few years back for my old sony sub.
if you need pounding bass from your sub , you should go for monoamp.

but best thing for you is , out of two just connect one of the speaker set which has lower rms into sony amp and bridge your sub into 2 ch of rockford foastage amp as it gives 300 rms while bridged.

Will it be a good idea to get a 4 channel amp hooked up to the the stock speakers on the verna? I am not an audiophile, but I do feel that the rear fill is really bad - will adding the amp help fix this? Or is it just that the rear speakers in verna are not that powerful?

@Neil Thanks for the Input.

I am not sure abt the RMS of the Sony Amp ( Model XM-222) I am not able to find it online.

And Yes, I dnt need Boom Boom in Car... so Monoamp i ll but later

I think RF Amp will be able to satisfy the Component speakers and 12 Inch Infinity Sub. (i am getting Rockford amp @ 10k .. would it be better if i got for Focal Solid 4 at 11k as suggested by Kunal)??

I will use Sony amp for the Alpine Coxial.

[:D]

i find out about your sony amp. it gives rms 40w X 2 at 2 ohm. thats not at all capable to drive sub.
Even co-axials are usually 80w rms per speaker. better you buy new sony 2 ch amp. it's not costly. you will get it for 2.5k
XM-GTX6022 : Xplod™ Amplifier : In-Car Entertainment : Sony India

Focal solid 4 is 100w rms X 4. enough for comps but when bridged it's 200 rms for subs. this sub needs at least 300 rms or more. Kunal has focal solid monoamp for his subwoofer.
I think the rockford amp you told is 150 rms X 4 and when bridged 300 rms best for sub.
Can you tell me the model no of RF amp??
if its 800w then it should be model T800.

front stock speaker is better with amplifier as i have connected my front stock speakers with amp. its louder and clear then before. no idea about rear speaker as i have aftermarket speakers in rear door.
The rear door stock speakers are weak only 15w compare to front which are 25w.
you can add amp with stock HU. 5-6 owners on this forum has added 1 or 2 amps with stock HU. no problem.

Hi, recently went in for an audio upgrade.JBL components in the front, rear JBL speakers and a JBL subwoofer tube with a 4 channel amplifier. But not as amazing results as I was expecting.
The guy who did the fitting and tuning said its so because my stock 2 DIN HU doesn't have pre-outs.I'd get better results if I "took out" pre-outs from my stock HU.Is it so? Does the sound quality really improve incase there are pre-outs in the HU instead of the stuff being done using hi-low converters?I'm confused now what to do?Should I "take out" pre-outs from my HU so that he would connect the RCA cables directly to the HU from the Amp instead through the hi-low converters?Any difference in sound quality/clarity?

hi lover.mercedes
congrats for car and ICE

Which 4 ch amplifier did you use? and how did you connect your speakers and sub? I think one of your speaker set is connected directly without amp.

There are different hi-low converters available. starting from 400 rs Chinese to 3500 scosche. Which one you used?
If you feel that SQ is bad due to that you can go for better converters but there is no other way to connect amp with stock HU. you cant connect directly and have to use converters. Few pages back i have posted the converter pic i have used in my car. got it for 2k

is it clarity you are concerned or the bass punch effect of subwoofer?
tell me the model no of your amp , speaker and sub so i can help you.
and which wiring you used?

if you tell me these thing i can tell you what is missing in your setup and how to tune your amp. and post some pics if you can

And what is "take out" of preouts. i didnt get it.
