@Freakdude, I would say, if you want a lag free experience, go for Nexus. A Note 2 won't be bad either.
The GPU of Nexus 4 is better, Note 2 has the same one in S2 and S3. CPU of Nexus 4 is better(I think, not sure).

Edit: The CPU of Note 2 is better but still it lags! So its upto you to decide which is better for you. DO NOT buy the Note 2/S3 if you game.

I completely agree with you buddy, Nexus rocks and add to that the pure OS experience without the touchwiz. The two things that are keeping me away from it are :
1. Non removable battery.
2. The back side is of glass so one more area that could get damaged if dropped.

A good cover can take care of the back . Again I don't know your usage pattern but my current and last phone both was and is having non replaceable batteries never had a issue as such . Since after comming home I do keep the phone for charge .

Android phones do hang at times buddy so a hard reset comes handy(though this is very less in occurrence), that's why my concern on Nexus. Nevertheless, added it to my list. [;)]

Also, who's service is better, LG or Samsung. I have experienced Samsung and they are OKish, no experience with LG.

I have used phones from both makers and I would grade them equal . Hanging can be solved by holding the volume and power button .

Why don't you go in croma or reliance digital they both have both phones you can play around check the camera , and other stuff and take a call .

Ohh incase you want to know Lennavo k900 is launched too all metal body and has 5.5 screen , reviews are good .

Thanks for the suggestions Raja bhai.

Both are tempting but I am a bit worried about how good the service support will be. I have experimented a lot on a friend's Note2 and believe me it is a miracle device with so many options and sensor customization. I have also played with friend's Nexus 4 and it is for sure a bit smoother than note 2 but the form and feel is just average. Still inclined more towards Note2, rest will decide in a day or two, wont stretch this discussion long for sure. [:)]

Don't buy till you are not fully satisfied with your purchase . If you stretch the discussion and in end buy something which your 100% sure and happy its all great and good . After all you are putting a hard earned money right .

Just one suggestion reject it if it dosent make sense , why not go for a grey note 2 the white looks more or less same like the galaxy grand .

But if white is something which you like more then go for that .

Most of my previous phones were black, so wanted to try white this time. [embarass]

Thanks for sharing the details buddy. I promise this discussion woth be going for more than a day or two. Only reason I invited suggestion from you all is I didnt want to get frustrated over choices and end up buying a grand or a MMX A116. [frustration]

Did a lot of window shopping today and tried to exchange my HTC Touch P3452 in the Note 2 exchange offer but couldnt do it. The max I was offered was a 7.5K off on Note2's mrp in the exchange offer. Samsung's offers says ALL HTC but they were not willing to exchange mine for full 10K discount.

Prices online also seem to have increased : FK 32500 to 37500, SD 28999 to 32500. Only EBAY has the cheapest 29099 (one new seller is also selling for 28800 but has a feedback score of only 2).
