Buddies,

Today I checked out the 2.2 Lt New Ford Endeavour at the dealership in Noida. The permission for TD was not provided to dealership by Ford India as I was informed by them. So, as I had already seen the car externally earlier, I was more inclined to see its interiors and seating comfort. I am posting the interior pics of the car. Please refer to the mentioned link for Exterior Pics & External Walk-Around Video.[:)]

[:)]I am humbled you all like the details. Thanks. It is a 2.2 L AT but Variant I think could be Trend one.

Well, over here in Noida it is as of now not possible to have TD else I would have been writing a review. I am going to Mumbai next week so have planned a TD there with Ford for Endeavour and if possible the Superb as well.

Yes of course, I was referring to the official review that should be done some time, the internet is populated with 3.2 and 2.2 AT reviews but no reviews of manual so far and I still believe manual 2.2 Endeavour with 4x4 will be one hell of a package, one that would give better performance than AT as well as mileage and more engaging drive as well

This is not even a short-time ownership review, But I thought I would give some interim update.

What I Like:

1. Premium product quality
2. Ride and handling, especially the steering wheel
3. Easy to ride within City
4. Comfortable seats
5. Sedan like comfort
6. Manual drive (S mode) changed my mind about the vehicle. (explained bit later)
7. Several electricals and electronics makes life easier, especially the sensors (front, side and back) (Eg. Single press in the remote opens driver side door, and double click makes it universally)

What I dislike:

A. Gearbox, Not well mated with the engine. You would hear. Not suitable for aggressive drivers like me who was driving a Scorpio which has the best engine in that segment
B. Space in Second row and third row. In the second row, it's not as roomier as the car's look, the third row almost has no use.
C. Large size for our roads - people on roads either get fear or get angry.

Few other points:

Now let me connect 6 and A above. The manual mode helps a bit to overcome the gear shift lethargy to an extent. Though it is not the perfect solution.

The engine roars a lot and the gear forgets a bit (2-3 sec) to push forward from 2nd to 3rd. So, I started changing my driving style. Keeping the eye on the fuel efficiency helps me.

FE - 7.4 kms average (driven only 400Kms so far). But all within the cumbersome bumper-to-bumper traffic. I cannot comment on this, as I have not touched 6th gear even once. I didn't really get a chance to touch 70KMs in the speedo. It is unfair to comment about the highway cruising before I do once.
