Aftermarket Tacho Meter / RPM Meter

Hi Folks! i wanted to install aftermarket tacho meter in my maruti omni MPFI 2001 model. i have certain doubt if you can clarify.
Whether for MPFI model there is dfferent proceedure for installatio.
Where is will get a 3 cylinder tacho model for omni. will A star tacho will do?

Yes A-star tacho will work, I guess omni shares the same ecu of 800, so there is no separate wiring from ecu for tacho.

Do you have any idea about where the ignition coil is located in maruti omni. i have certain confusion in regard to that.

Oops reading the thread made me realise i too can blow up the ritz tacho in the esteem ! Is there any way i can avoid this guys :Varun is your tacho working

No my tacho is not working, I blew up totally 2 tacho's..

Dont worry, just try it in your car, may be it will work fine with carb models.

Dont try ritz tacho on esteem it will not work I tried in a carb esteem its not perfect and showing morethan 4k on idling. better to buy an aftermarket universal one IMO

Fit it on your car only.. I guess alto will have the wire for RPM meter.

You will get a universal tacho, which will have options to change to 2,3 or 4 cylinders. Costs around 4k.

Before that check if you have connectivity for RPM, as we don't have in ours.

then how your is working? BTW the connectivity can be checked with a engine mechanic or an electrician ? or if i get different snaps you will tell me ?

Mine already blew off and removed it long back, I had connected it from ignition coil.
