Rear chrome - 2 K INR
Rest was offer - 15 K INR (This includes Panasonic audio system worth 6 K INR and 2 door speakers)
Total - 17 K INR
Sounds ok if the audio system is worth for 6k. you are planning to upgrade to 15in alloys? Forgot to ask you how's the car? Does it have turbo lag?

Hi Guys,

Bit confused on fitting old Dzire VDi Speedo console in Dzire Tour.

I have inquired about tachometer and have found that extensive wiring is needed.Got the info from senior engineer from the dealership. Dzire Tour's ECU is same as old Dzire VDi's but Dzire Tour doesn't come with "BCM" module and the BCM module sends signal to tachometer. Also Dzire Tour's dashboard wiring kit is different from Dzire VDi so need to buy the wiring kit also. Total cost will go upwards of 1 lakh is what the engineer told me and advised me not to go for such extensive modifications for just a tachometer. He also said all these are standard Maruti Suzuki parts straight from old gen Dzire VDi. After market tachos can be fitted for much lower figure. I don't want after market ones which will be fitted to dashboard and the dash will look clustered.

What should i do guys?[confused]

Sankar

I think the Maruti engineer would be correct. Please do not go for extensive modifications only for tacho. Also please do not fit aftermarket tacho in your new car.

Alternately you can check if A-Star/Ritz'z tacho will fit in Dzire. But it would be protruding in dashboard.

Thanks,
Anshuman

No as i said the signals needed for the tachometer are said by a separate module and not by the ECU. That module called BCM or something costs 45k alone. Then the wiring kit costs another 30k. Only then one can send signals to tachometer. [frustration]

I am searching for any work around for this which shouldn't be this costly or complex.

In that case simply stay off, though tacho is useful it is not must need to drive a diesel car.

Probably next week or in 2 week's time. All depends on sanctioning of loan.[roll]

Sure shall post photos of how i actually receive the car and the modifications that i do.

Hope you are getting loan via nationalized banks.

Try SBI/SBT(for Kerela). They are good. I got loan from SBI in 2 days flat, where as home loan from Axis took 10 days for sanction[frustration]

Both my parents work in SBT. I am taking loan through a subsidized scheme were i can avail car with small simple interest. But loan sanction does take some more time than a normal car loan:lol!:

Thanks a lot Anshuman. Car looks exactly like Dzire VDi. Only difference is the white color used by Maruti for Dzire Tour. Dzire Tour comes in ordinary non metallic color called Arctic white while the old gen Dzire VDi comes with metallic white color called Superior white. I inquired about changing my car to metallic white but the costs exceeds 35k for the whole car so backed off.

Have you had a chance to look into the interiors? Did the owner change any interiors?

You guys took the correct way to get good car at low price, i think its innovative.
Thanks Vivek. Its not cheap considering modification to old gen VDi specs will cost 50k. But the total costs will only come around 7.5lakhs which is around 50k lower than the new 2012 Dzire which is a much smaller vehicle. New Dzire has more upmarket and superb interiors which the old gen can't be compared with. But you get a full sized sedan for much lesser price of New Dzire VDi.

for tacho , you can use OBD2 bluetooth scanner and android mobile. thats how i'm using.

for paint. here painters will just rub off the clear coat(artic white's) and clear coat with metallic finish. i had that in my nano. costs 5k before 2 years

But is it recommended on a brand new car? I had also talked to the paint shop owner on this and he told me that you need to rub off the whole paint and then paint the primer and 2 coats of mettalic paint which costs 35k.

Hi Sankar,

Sorry no inside pictures of the car.

For the paint I would advise you to stick to stock white. If you really want to change spending 35K at a later stage you can go for any color what so ever you like.

Cheers,
Anshuman
