Hi Sankar,

Sorry no inside pictures of the car.

For the paint I would advise you to stick to stock white. If you really want to change spending 35K at a later stage you can go for any color what so ever you like.

Cheers,
Anshuman
Yup i had the same thoughts. 5 years down the line i shall change the color to a metallic one.[:D] I am planning to keep the car for next 10 years.

Sankar

Sounds ok if the audio system is worth for 6k. you are planning to upgrade to 15in alloys? Forgot to ask you how's the car? Does it have turbo lag?

Regards,
Sankar
Hello Sankar,

Sorry I couldn't respond earlier.

- 15" alloy; I wish to but I really don't want to spend any money until next 6 months or may be even one year
- Hows car; its good, in fact I love every technical aspect. I give it a zero if you ask me about interiors
- Turbo; believe me you will like it too when it kicks in; I didn't notice any lag

Some Questions:
- I am unable to find MGA leather steering cover; near my house shops are recommending to go for a manual stitch. Any suggestions?
- In your recent post you said that you want to have indicators in ORVMs; my dealer said it is not possible in tour; I am excited to see your car already
- My friend suggested me to get something extra for flooring; lot of eating expected while I drive; please suggest something that lasts longer and keeps the original cloth clean
- Are you obsessed for RPM; my friend said he was not happy about the after-market fitment / performance and had to remove it. For the price you have found out, I suggest to stay away

Bad news:
I already kissed the back bumper to a wall; the touch was so minute but still it managed to put black pimples at several places. My bad, I was careless and the security whistled right when it touched :-(

You take care, Manjax

Really sorry to hear this manjax. Haev't you fitted rear parking aids in your car?

I have some queries about the car -

Is their any any particular unsual sound coming from engine when you start the first time in a day? I found it while i went to yard to do PDI inspection. It stopped after 30 seconds while engine was on. Have you experienced this?

How are the gearshifts? Slotting into reverse gear is a bit difficult was my PDI experience.

Does Dzire Tour come with fuel reserve warning? If no how the hell can we calculate FE using tank full method?

I am thinking about some cost effective parking sensors on the back; should be able to have it during first service.

Sound during first time in a day - It didn't knock my head; I will be watchful next time; should be a one off situation in my opinion. Never stopped on its own

Gear shifts are not the best; I have struggled sometimes but most times it is smooth. Reverse locking is trouble sometimes; slopes may be.

For FE; the recommendation is to measure until 1/4th of the fuel still remaining in the tank from full. Do more than one test and average out.

BTW, I have not seen any reserve alarm; I guess the only option is that we should check the fuel indicators.

@Sankar, the accessories list provided by you is more or less exhaustive. The prices also are comparable with BLR prices, give and take few hundred here and there.

@ Sankar and Manjax, is there a low fuel lamp/indicator in Dzire Tour? As far as I remember, it was there in erstwhile Swift LDI/Dzire LDI. For full tank calculation as the fuel bunk attendant to fill diesel upto brim using auto cutoff , usually most modern pumps have this. Drive few hundred kms and then again fill upto brim from same bunk same pump dispenser.

Cheers,
Anshuman

I also felt the same while driving my car during pdi. Gearshifts are a bit harsh. Said says it will be smooth after second service which I doubt. Also do check and let me know of the sound the first time you start the vehicle in a day

Maruti trimmed the car to a bare metal one. I am a bit frustrated at their cost saving now.

@manjax have you checked FE?

Real time mileage should be 16-17 in city and 20-22 in highways, what I heard from taxi guys in BLR.
Difficult to calculate FE as Tour doesn't come with Fuel reserve warning lights[frustration].

Hey Manjax, have you checked FE of your car?

Try to use tankfull to tankfull method. Or get the tankfull once and drive for say at least 100kms and tankfull again and then divide 100 from the amount of oil refiled in the tank. An easy as that.

Hi Vivek,

It's not easy to calculate tankful method in Dzire Tour. In my friend's tour we put 500rs of Diesel which is 9.45liters and the needle just showed above empty. My problem is one can never know if the tank is actually empty or not. I thought my friend's car had almost no diesel and to my surprise it still had 5 liters left of diesel. Maruti should have given the low fuel indicator[frustration]

Hi Sankar,
Low fuel indicator is not a parameter to measure tankful FE.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, please fill the tank to brim, e.g. if your fuel tank capacity is 40L, put 40L+reserve (2-5L) fuel in the tank with auto -cutoff in fuel dispenser.

Run for 500 km or so, again refill to brim. 500km/qty of fuel used will give you accurate FE.

Cheers,
Anshuman

Forget the needle, tankful method has nothing to do with the needle. Get the tankful and then drive it till ~100 kms and then again do the tankful, now divide the 100 from the amount of fuel poured into the tank. It would give you the precise mileage of your vehicle.

Get the tankful done till the brim.
