About To Book My Dream SUV (Thinking Mahindra XUV 500)

When is it arriving home? How much did it actually cost you on road? Did you manage to get some freebies?

It costs about 15.86. They were'nt ready to provide any discounts or Freebies, however i went face to face with the Branch manager and he's offered me a flat 10k less on whatever accessories I take. However i feel cheated as accessories are Way overpriced. Can anyone confirm the rates? (Roof carrier- 14k~! Foot steps- 12k, Mats 3.5k, Chrome 5k. Camera the most useful and reasonably priced at 4k.)

I also feel a bit unfortunate as prices shot up by about 50k in January. It would've landed around 15.31 if i had booked in Dec 12.

I heard that the static bending Headlamps work BELOW 30km/h. Thats how we take most of the tight turns mate. Can you confrim this?

Yes, I will check on this.

I've also heard that LED parking lamps and Static bending lamps are prone to failures.

There were some issues in the initial models about LEDs going kaput, not anymore.

Else let me know how is the general headlight performance? (You seem to be a lucky owner i guess)

Low beam is average, high beam is excellent. Low beam with fog lights serves the purpose though.

+100 to that. Low beam plus fog lights is the way to go and serves the purpose very well. That's what I have been doing.

Yes, the accessories are highly overpriced. If time permits, I will check and let you know the market value of these. Thanks for sharing the price. Btw, you still are lucky the XUV will cost you even more if you book it now

Agree with Raj. Have seen this done in one of the red XUV's close to Mahalaxmi some time back. It just doesn't go with the class of the XUV.

But if you have something innovative then why note...

On SUVs this size a big bold hood sticker looks good along with some extra lamps either on the roof or in front of the grill.

If you like decals on your car, go ahead with it. But in my humble opinion, that Safari looks weird and cheap. Infact, decals are a strict No-No on any expensive car.
