Sad to read the accident Sir. I did not see the thread.

I agree with SS80. Use the power of internet (I do most of the cases). If they respond properly, I wait for their resolution. If they start ignoring/insulting, I show my real character. Bad attitude make the situation worse in most of the case.

let insurance pay the money for you. That is different. But, get that from Kallada (One of the owner was known to me during 2002-04. I lost contact and even forgot his name). I think they have two different names. Suresh Kallada and Kallada . (I do not remember correctly).

Who ever it is, get the money from them than Insurance. Tell that their attitude made them paying.

So unfortunate, but lucky enough that the body was saved from the damage.
What a fool, that driver is, who could not see it.
Hopefully the government agencies does something to teach that driver a lesson.

@Ram Sir: It is really sad to see your Octavia in such state.

As like you mentioned, your car belongs to TN registration. So they thought that, you won't do anything against them. Anyhow, you filed the complaint & I'm sure you will get justice.

The Bus driver needs to pay for his mistake & he should not do these kind of activities in future.

Ram sir,

Very sad to hear about the accident. But happy that you are safe.

These Volvo bus drivers think they are the rulers and we are all their slaves. Good that you are fighting this. Take it till the last moment and dont leave it mid way.

@Ram sir,

That was bad to see on your car[cry]

Do not leave the culprit at all, also complaint to the travels office where this bus belongs to. you could have mentioned the exact timing of the incident while writing to Transport department and police where they will easily catch the driver.

I wish you are car will be back in good shape very soon and the culprit be punished and you get the compensation for the same from the travels

I wish being a TAI member should help pressurize agencies to take us seriously.
e.g. if someone is media person (even a news paper reporter )they will tend to deal with him seriously.
Similarly we at TAI should initiate something to support our fellow TAIgers to get justice in such incidents. For ex. a channel to escalate matters to higher authoroties.
It should giveNails and Teeth to the TAIger(Offcourse for etically correct use only )

Ram sir,

Very sad to hear about the accident. But I am happy that you are safe & more happy that you given compliant against them.
I am sure the respective RTO (or the MVI in charge of accident cases) will call the owner/driver for hearing and action.I heard that due to Rishi raj singh effect, respective officer has to take an action(a minimum one month suspension of license)against the driver is must in these days. My brother personally experiensed the same.

This is so disheartening. Sorry about this incident (I intentionally won't call it an accident). It hurts even bad when the defaulter tries to overpower the other. I too have had it many times.

A month ago, my right side ORVM was hit by bikers twice on the same day and it turned to the other side. Luckily both the times, it was unhurt. Moreover, a few days before those incidents, the same mirror was hit by another biker and he gave a damn care when I yelled at him. He just turned back and asked me "What happened now?" That was so disgusting. So, he did it on purpose and didn't want to care too. Same happened with Left ORVM too on another day, and same classic reaction by that biker too.

BTW, 16K for a Mirror is a BOMB [surprise] Hope you at least get a peaceful settlement with the Insurance Company with minimal damage to the pocket.

Thank you appus. I sent a mail already to Kallada Travels and received only an automated reply. Let me wait for couple of days more to shoot the next mail.

Yes, fortunately no body damage. Its mere case of negligence.

AppU, for them its a regular affair, and they just are not bothered. Because we take care of our vehicles, we feel disturbed for it. Let's wait and see.

Thank you Prasanna for your words. And for sure I am not going to leave it half the way.

Thank you RK. Replacing the mirror is a very minor job, and the Ins. people have agreed to compensate. But the amount of mental agony I had gone through can't be compensated.

Thank you parth1231 for your attitude. Let's see how things go.

Thank you Releesh. For a claim from Ins. you need to lodge a complaint and get the copy from them to attach with the claim form. Even I am waiting for the Transport Dept. to respond.

Thank you Figoian. I am sorry for the similar incident happened to you as well though there is no damage. The original mirror is VW from Spain, hence costly I think. Anyway I will keep this thread updated

During the arguments few of the passengers also came down and supporting the driver just because they want to reach their destination fast; none of them is bothered how they are safe in these kind of driver's hands.
This is interesting. The bus driver will get courage by such passengers. Ideally, one should drive away such people at the first shot. When they come for argument, should ask reverse questions and keep their mouth shut. Simply ask their name, address and a camera picture, most of them will return to their seats. The bus driver will come down when such support is withdrawn. If the situation on the opposite side, most of the passengers will grill you with bus driver.

This should not be left just like that until you get justice.

Sorry to know your vehicle.
Not only the carriage buses, the private buses are also a menace here.
My cousin had a similar incident about 2-3 months back. He was overtaking a car & at that time another private bus overtook him & smashed his right ORVM of his brio. The bus didn't stop, so he chased the bus & stopped in front of him. He had a heated argument & he got the money.

Good to know that you filed a case & also informed the transport department about it. The pictures surely stand as a valid proof on what happened at the spot. Let's see how it goes. hope for the best.

If you buy the original mirror in the open market you will spend the same amount as your share of the claim ie 50 percent and keep your ncb untouched

Very sad to see a car which is maintained so very well Ram sir, really irritating to see such rude volvo drivers these days. No wonder so many accidents in recent past with such irresponsible volvo drivers. Thank god you are safe and there is nothing to the body of the car. Hoping to see your car a new ORVM.

You said it right Mathew. The driver was inspired by the passengers who were just in a hurry to reach their places. It didn't strike to me to capture their images so that they would have withdrawn from the scene. Anyway these are all lessons. Today I collected the paper from the police station, tomorrow I am giving the claim form and leaving the car for repair.

Thank you. You can easily manage with private stage carriers, because if anybody makes a complaint, he will be called to the police station immediately for inquiry and his trips will be cancelled. So, they will be ready for a compromise instead of losing a day's collection. And if any accident is involved, then they can take the vehicle from the police station only after the MVI's inspection, which involves a lot of money - as you know.

You won't get the original mirror (VW Spain) in the open market. Secondly, my ins. policy is a Nil Depreciation Policy. Accidents are unexpected, today you pay the money from your pocket for the repair just to save the NCB, and tomorrow if any major claim comes, and when you claim it, you will lose the NCB also apart from the money what you are paying today.

I believe this way - "Forget yesterday, live for today, tomorrow may come or may not come"
