With unsure about what was in there previously, I think a full flush is the better way to go.
.

Whether the car is old or new. Whether the coolant is dilute or watery..
I feel really uncomfortable pumping water into the cooling system meant for coolant only, knowing fully well that I can now never make that plain water to come out.
I will always prefer 3 litres New coolant mixing with 2 litres older coolant left in the system, and then repeat that cycle
.

As of now Figo is performing all right post the coolant change. Temp of coolant is stable. I am observing it closely. Any sign of abnormality, and I will repeat the procedure sooner. Otherwise I will repeat it after 1000 kms.

Figo rear hub rust removal ( DIY )

Completed the passenger side rear wheel hub too. Similar rust, but better results .,maybe because finer sandpaper was used more and base was better prepared.

After sanding

Kat- kat -kat sound is coming on uneven roads and speed bumps, whenever the tyre moves up and down. I have inspected the underbody. Sound source is somewhere near the tyres. Both tyres. As of now I suspect the tie rod ends to be the cause. I plan to buy new ones from the market today.
Even online I am unable to find both sides original Ford tie rod.
After market spares are for 1/3 the price of genuine Ford tie rod ends, which are very costly . Let's see. I have never ever tried aftermarket parts. If I don't get original Ford parts, I will buy aftermarket spares.
I have no intention of going to ASS for this. I intend to do it all by myself, even if I screw up.
The Last time I went to ASS, they advised to top up green coolant over and above pink original coolant, saying there will be no issue etc.

I am getting a brand named talbros. I haven't heard about this brand except maybe on some hand tools. The tie rod ends of this brand are looking alright .
I am unable to find OEM part in my city. Does anyone has any knowledge regarding this brand??

Recently replaced some of Fiesta's suspension parts and got the Talbros and Rane make. Mech was so confident over them, so bought them. Yet to update those in thread. I am still in 2022, I think.

Do you have any pictures of your spares. Kindly do share. Your post has increased my confidence. I am already in the process of purchasing talbros.
I thank you for this post.

DIY changing tie rod ends on my Ford Figo petrol

Very bad rusting on the bolt is halting my progress. The bolt is rotating and not coming loose. The ends of bolts, i.e. the edges have rounded off.

IMG-20220606-WA0024.jpg

I have drenched the area in WD40,still no respite
IMG-20220606-WA0022.jpg

As can be seen the boot is already cut and disintegrated.

Rusted area is simply peeling off.

Bolt is jammed tight

If this thing doesn't come off, I am left in a quandary. FNG mechanic will give me very queer look, if now I take Figo there

DIY changing tie rod ends on my Ford Figo petrol

After the nut refused to open I had no option left, but to bring out the big guns !!
For this tool, this nut was a joke, took 2 seconds exact, to loosen out.

Just a quick question, how do you manage these DIY's along with your work sir!
Much much appreciating your efforts.
Thank you for your compliments.
I get 2 hours in the afternoon. 1 hour for resting, remaining one hour for DIY. If its incomplete, I try to get 1 hour in the evening. This is the time I get for my passion.
I make do with these free time slots. Enough for me.

On car movement battery shakes a lot and holding rod is loose. I suspect Battery tray has rusting issues. I intend to remove the battery and look inside.
