Re: 4300K Quality HID Kit Technical Review and Install (W+Pics)

Installed the Wireless type HID kit on my Skoda Rapid!

The bulb has a metal base and its 5500K
These bulbs are very easy to fix in Skoda, VW cars as the bulb holder is little complicated.

I recommend these for Skoda/VW cars.

dear, what do you mean by wireless hid?
does it mean wire is not fixed & socket can be used?

brown return wire means your kit is 4300k. (it also looks 4300 on road to my eye). 5000k should have white return wire.

Re: 4300K Quality HID Kit Technical Review and Install (W+Pics)

ive got hid's in my creta
the bulbs are 4300k shade 55w
creta uses 9005 for the projectors
and h27 for the fogs

the issue is im having a straight line shadow which is quite evident in the pics

i tried to fit the change the bulb holder orientation but in vain and return wire is on the top side in the bulbs after fixing them

returned the kit back to the seller
and waiting for a different base so the return wire is on the bottom side

if you see in the center there are two shadows which are in the form of straight line converging towards the center as they go further

first pic is low beam followed by high beam

i heard few XUV 500 owners claiming same problem with p8 HID kits

any solution to this ?

The seller sells this as wireless HIDs, it actually means wires are not fixed.
also he mentions them as 5500k. output is bit whitish compared to the one I have on my Zest

not fixed properly. rotate the bulbs a bit inside the projectors. i think the return wire should be on the sides. I'm not sure though. I had this shadows. then later i found that the bulb holder was fixed loose.

the bulb was fixed properly and inside the grooves
i tried to turn it around and fix in another way
but it doesnt fit that way

now waiting for the metal base wireless bulbs from the same seller
lets see how they fare

Re: 4300K Quality HID Kit Technical Review and Install (W+Pics)

1. return wire is generally on the top..on ALL kits I've installed, return was at top. it shouldn't be a hindrance. hid projectors are made for this and will mix the light in reflector before sending it outward.

2. your Case does not appear to be return wire shadow. you seem to have slightly brighter/yellower beams on the road. this is the case of bulb length or bulb holder. if the hid arc capsule is not properly lined up with projector spec (bulb too far in or out), such issues appear.

3. your low beam is ok. what's really messed up is your high beam. there's a dark patch on the tree followed by strong light even higher on the tree top!

is by chance your bulb so long that hinders the bixenon shield working?

Could you pls explain the wireless HID Kit part??
Can you provide some pics? original box, the bulb before fitment and after fitment? Do you mean no ballast?
Then the power supply? HOW???[confused]
Also IMHO, you need to get your focusing checked, because, it seems your HIDs are spreading on the highway (refer video). They are supposed to be having very sharp cut off lines, which is not apparent in the video or in the pic.
A query from my side, in your opinion, do you think these 5500k HID will be good on a fully black tarmac highway and during rainy season?

Regards

5500k is not good for rain. the beam will just dissapear. it's recommended to have 4300k, which is a all weather bulb & still looks white. other option would be to use 5500k in headlights & 3000k in fogs.

Dear Doc
seems you have some problem with your projectors. reasons:
1. the cut off on the right edge is not as sharp on the left side. the right edge beam is spreading like a normal halogen.
2. maybe because of the height n design of the cut off shield inside the projector you are getting the 2 dark lines.

suggest you get a feedback from hyundai workshop electronics/ lights guy regarding the fitment of hid and the design of the cut off shield inside the projector.

i too noticed those patches on the tree during high beam and thus poor lighting

regarding the length of the bulb
i haven't measured it nor saw till where it was after installing it

i returned the kit
and put the stock bulbs for now
will try another kit
if its still the same then il retain stock bulbs
and go for a Bar

yes the cut off is not straight and mis-aligned
have to adjust it
the cut-off aint sharp too

i dont think the hyundai technician can provide any information regarding this
anyways will give it a try

thanks for the link
that's a good read

doc,
led h7 bulbs have become available which use Philips or cree led. better exchange your hid for those.

I'm using cree h4 in my i10. the output is very good and beam pattern is maintained.

please don't go for lightbars. looks ricey & cheap. the glare will trouble everyone. your other option is to look for cree high beam assists. related guides are on my thunderbolt xuv thread.

yeah saw some good reviews on the LED bulbs but they dont spread far and for city use they are great but on highway they dont illuminate much
im referring to philips LED h4 kit which my friend is using in his i20

regarding bars
im skeptical about them too as they cause lot of glare

just received the wireless kit
and few wires are missing [frustration]

Dear Doc
awaiting pics of the wireless kits please
and agree with you ... LED good for the city ... not for highway... unless u mount up high power LED and blind the opposite traffic. better to stick either with stocks or to get proper HID (with projector only)

attaching few pics of the wireless kit with canbus ballasts
generally a normal hid bulb gets the wire attached to the bulb and cant be removed
but in this kit
it looks like normal halogen OEM bulb

there is picture of the whole kit which i received where few wires are missing
so seller is shipping the missed out wiring

look at the pics for reference

the ballast has amp connectors. you need amp to flat connector now. I guess that's the part that's missing.

Good they removed the cables, but ballast is now a 3 box unit! that's ugly & messy.
