I saw a welcome change in Chennai Airport recently. There was a big fleet of Indigo XL cars - forgot the name of the car company.

Inside space and leg room in an Indigo XL is surprising!!! Its a limousine (in space department) and not a sedan.

You can keep a big suitcase infront of you and still get ample leg space in back seat.

We cannot imagine the space inside if we see this car from outside.

@ Mukesh Must be a taxi of some hotel , i see Bmw's and Merc's also used as Taxis by some premium luxury hotels.

@ Autosafari TATA cars surely are spacious inside aren't they?

Recently got a chance to travel in Indica and Logan cabs. Logan's front seat was not comfortable for me though but still the ride quality and space at the backseat was amazing! AC was also really good in Logan.

Indica was even more spacious and ride quality was equally good!

I hate to admit it but both these cars felt more comfortable and ride quality far superior compared to my Verna , thanks to the soft suspension setup!

Bangalore is now flooded with Mahindra Xylo D2s.Instead of Victa, Grandes are being seen everywhere,They are running all over the city(Guess the fleet operators are forced to get BS4 engine which is present only in above two models).Indica is still a winner here.

BTW i am now seeing the indica V2(not eV2)model with BS4 tag in it,Any of you know about that?

I wanted to know why TATA Bs4 engines brand new , emit smoke.

Recently saw an ev2 Indica , emitting black smoke.

My car even after 40,000 kms doesn't seen smoke.

Same with Safari too i have seen.

Recently checked my car with the car at back, to check whether smoke was emitted or not.

Think those engines has lesser refinement levels, and you know how those cabbies throttle the machines.

Its a case of poorly maintained/tuned cars, black smoke is because the engine is running 'rich' i.e excess fuel that wasnt burnt, that could be due to variety of reasons, right from fuel injectors, carburettors(in older cars), fuel pump etc. In most cases fuel efficiency is lower in such cars.

not sure if this is an continuous phenomena, may be Xover can comment, if its continuous its surely a problem, if its just for some time i would suspect a rich mixture or may be dealer is unscrupulous and giving bad fuel - anything is possible with these dealers nowadays.

Catcon and inlet manifold i am expecting should be in good condition for a new car..otherwise those can cause black smoke..

anyways will keep an eye on ev2 on the roads

Cabbies wont use cars which have low FE. Indicas have good FE. The car seen by mukeshus might be one isolated case. There can be various factors. Its almost impossible for a new car to emit black smoke (any make).
