The only problem with going for wider tires is making sure your current rims can use them. You can use the XM2 185/65 R15 with a minimum width of 5 inches, recommended width of 5.5 inches and a maximum of 6.5 inch width.

The Primacy LC 195/60 R15 with a minimum width of 5.5 inches, recommended width of 6 inches and maximum width of 7 inches.

Ps:Make sure any tire you buy is not more than 3 months old.The dealer will most likely tell you that the stock isnt available or you will have to wait for the new stock.Just try the next place in that case.Older tires will develop cracks sooner than newer tires. This limits the life of the tire.

195mm is the section width, 60 means 60% of 195=117mm aspect ratio(sidewall height)

The 195/60 R15 is 10mm wider and 6 mm taller than the 185/60 R15 stock tire.

Refer to your owner manual regarding the tire upsizes that can be used.If its not mentioned there contact the dealer.

Wish a 6mm change it is highly unlikely.I had scraping problems only when the tire height increased by 14mm.But still contact your dealer/workshop or tata customer care to know about the correct tire upsizes that are available to you,to be sure.

When in doubt, follow the manual. I dont know much about tyres. I have used JK Tornado on my Wagon R. They were noisy and had only completed 20000 kms. One night tyres got submerged in Kolkata rain, and next day the steel reinforcement gave way from various places. I replaced all the four of them with Accelere. These are good. Now I have stock Bridgestones on my Manza. They make noise, but I am comfortable with them. If you drive frequently on bad roads, extra comfort of soft tyres might trouble you many times. Else you can opt for soft ones. IMO you should strictly stick to company specs. A slight change in size would change all the dynamics.
I feel Bridgestone is good and you should stick to it.

Then , it is highly possible that 195 /60 would scrape the wheel hub on full turn , as the space is really narrow .
Hey Tornado i highly doubt this as my friend is using Michelin XM2 195/60 R15 in his Indica Vista and he has not faced any problems it now. The difference from stock Bridgestone tires were very pronounced.

Tornado,

Thanks for starting this thread,

Stock tyres in my car is Apollo Acelere. So far happy with the performance in bad roads and also during high speed highway trips. Road grip and Braking performance is excellent.

However, when compared with stock bridgestone tyres in my collegue's Manza, it seems Bridgestones are intact and looking in a better condition (km run are almost same) and considering the driving style of that guy, I should conclude that Bridgestone is far more rugged than Acelere and more comfortable too.

@autosafari , are the aceleres are softer than BS ?

Is there any relationship between symmetry of the tyres and steering response. Since manza 's steering is hydraulic , I would like to have better response from wheels as compared to the response at present.

@gurrala , they are good ,

My additional expectations from new tyres is better reponse to brakes and steering as compared to stock Bridgestone, if possible otherwise I will go for bridgestone again.

For your needs Michelin is better suited than Bridgestone. When you buy any tire just keep in mind the important points that I had mentioned in my previous posts.

Yes JP , I will do it , but for michelin , I will have to defy the company specifications which is a difficult decision.

Please provide link for update if any ,if michelin is going to launch a tire with manza specifications.

What company specification? The company will give you an upsize chart. Why don't you contact the company and take a look at the recommended upsizes. You will have to do that, we all do when we upsize our tires.

Please contact your dealer and check if the 195/60 R15 is in the recommended upsizes for your car.

Please do not expect other TAI members to do all the work for you.
