Oh My God !
Read all the 15 pages at one stretch.
Lots of information. Waxing / Polishing / sealant and what not.

Thank you guys.
I use only Amway Car wash. Once you become the member(Register free on their website with the help of any other amway member), you can get 20% discount. I had joined an year back and ordered 2 carwashes, tooth paste and bathing soaps and got 20% discount. I didnt sent the registration document so they cancelled my membership. 20% is a good discount comparing online/neighbor price ;)

I use a chamios cloth for wiping off the water. I use microfiber wash mitt glove for cleaning the surface initially.

Never thought of polish/wax. Now, I am planning something for cleaning the leather upholstery (not pure leather though). From this thread i found most of the people going for Formula 1 (not F-1 - thanks to 350z) and Meguiar's product.

I ordered Jopasu Duster now. I will be buying one among the above cleaner for seat cleaning.

Which wax is the best to use? I will not touch polish as of now (scared after reading few posts)

Thanks for sharing the link.

regarding open windows, I will never drive car with windows down unless otherwise i am sure that the outside is dust free and as well enjoyable weather. And when my son or daughter felt uncomfortable in AC for long time then I will roll down it for a while. That is it.

BTW, appus, what GPS device you got? Phone or Exclusive device ?

That is a big story[lol]
It is my Dell Streak, a 5" Android Phone which Dell manufactured two and half year back. They didnt market well and didnt give any further operating system upgrade after GingerBread. Now it is a Custom ROM(made my xda users) running much faster than the dell original software.

I recently got a car mount for it More info in this thread

I will be posting pics of my complete setup tomorrow (Car Mount, Phone, charger, bluetooth etc) so that some one can understand what i was talking about [glasses]

OT : I always feel that - A GPS device should be big enough to see. If you have a lesser screen size, you may tend to look more time into it and get distracted.

Bought few more items today from 'Junction' accessories shop

Meguiars Water Magnet Drying Towel -1
Meguiars Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel -1
Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax -1
Meguiars Foam applicator pads -2

And,
a WD-40 from hardware shop (for tar marks removal)

I already had a good chamois cloth for drying. Later i gave to someone else and bought another which is not good. So, i bought this 'Water Magnet Drying cloth'.

Photo of my washing/cleaning products i have. Jopaso external duster is the one to add (yet to get)

car care-1.jpg

Quick wax - MRP 822Rs - Charged 700/-

Magnetic drying towel - MRP - 754 (It is big 22 x30")
Microfiber towel -MRP-297 - Charged 1000 for both (51rs less on mrp)
Foam applicator pad - 199 for 4 - I got only 2 from a pack - 100 Rs

WD-40 . MRP 60, got it for 55RS

Today's dent on pocket -1,855Rs

I know the cloth were on a higher side. If the quality is good, then i do not have any problem.

I can see on cover a note which reads
MEGUIAR'S GUARANTEE : Our reputation for making the world's finest surface care product is based on exceeding your expectations each and every time. If you are not completely satisfied with this product, you may return it for a full refund of the verified purchase price.
Will give back if not satisfactory [lol]

Better to avoid using WD 40. It may damage clear coat.

Good car shampoos are effective in removing car marks in most of the cases. During a shampoo wash, use microfibre cloth to wipe out tar maks with gentle wipes (multiple times) on the wet surface.
Formula 1 carnauba wah and wax shampoo does the job in my car removing tar marks after long highway trips.

Otherwise try some specialised cleaners like Formula 1 Bug and Tar remover or ABRO Bug and tar remover.

When I had this problem with my previous M800, MASS guys used a normal yellow cloth soaked with some drops of petrol and cleaned the TAR in few minutes. Just for info.

Thanks. Searched a lot and reached on this. Diesel was another choice. But few says diesel is more problematic compared to wd40.
And, as per my knowledge, wax protects the marks (extra coating) and polish removes a thin layer of paint (read in this thread itself). So will stay away from wax and polish. Did not buy the clay bar(?).

@sethu sir,
They may be using diesel and not petrol. Petrol is more powerful compared to diesel and the shining goes off it seems.

Thank you both for your inputs. Will try to use car shampoo first (i doubt this time as it is a long line than just a spot) and try other stuff.
