Re: What “Special” Features Does Your Car Have?

Punto has some more features( i think).

# There is no separate lever for locking the car, Driver side as well as passenger side door lever work as a locking lever along with door release lever, just push inwards and the door gets locked. One more thing u don't need to unlock the car, just pull the lever and doors will open(each door).

#Underbody protection plate is there to protect its belly, its a thick plate.

I own a Tata Nano. One of the special feature i notice is the driver and passenger seat at the front. They both slide at an angle so if you move the seat front the seat climbs and if you move the seat back it decends making it very usefull for people who are short and makes more leg room for tall people.

Washer attached in the wiper which sprays the water in the windsheild.

Also only car with 624 CC petrol engine [:)]

^^^ Music volume increases with speed, not with respect to external volume. So whether you are driving with windows down or up, it does not matter. Anyways, with windows down, the driver will himself raise the volume up. So when you come to a standstill in traffic, it wont go below the predefined volume set by the driver.
When the glass is closed & you are speeding the vehicle, whats the use of volume of music increasing when the external noise isn't ?? Does the tyre noise intrude Punto a lot ? [confused] If so, it is very bad case of noise insulation.

I think you should drive a puntp E+ to experience this feature, only then you'll be able to know, what it actually is.

This is a feature in most modern audio systems in almost all brands ( including audi's and mercs ), some call it speed sensitive volume control or noise sensitive volume control. it can also be switched off and controlled in high/med/low mode in most cases.

Hmm.. But, when you lock this way, this restricts the entry only from outside, not from inside..right? The passengers in the rear can open irrespective of this being locked/released. I don't understand this logic. [confused]

Sound insulation is good but this is just a small hatch, not an S class ([evil]), so at high speeds, some amount of noise does filter in. And when we say that the volume increases, it increases by a small amount to compensate for that small increase in noise. You can set the sensitivity level by which you want the volume to increase.

I have noticed that in the Punto, the major cause of noise is the road noise caused by the crappy sport tyres - Goodyear GT3. I sat in a car which was shod with Yokohamas and astonishingly the car was very very silent.

Yes you are right, by this way you don't need to unlock the car, anyways you can't lock rear passengers inside the car cause every car can be unlocked from inside. On the other hand after closing the rear doors you don't need to lock the car, as the car is in locked state and it'll keep it locked unless front doors are nor opened. It makes you free from hassle of locking/unlocking the car frequently.
