Re: What “Special” Features Does Your Car Have?

Raj I own a 2011 Punto Emo Pack. It has got rain sensing wipers
Even I have a 2011 Punto 90 hp which does not have rain sensing wipers. I think you are confused because Punto has a feature in which the intermittent wiper adjusts it's delay/timing according to the vehicle speed. That is not rain sensing wipers which is being discussed here.

Here rain sensing wipers mean automatic wipers which switch on and off automatically when it rains and also increases/decreases speed automatically.

Speed Volume

I'm not sure if any Punto owner has noticed it. But it has a speed volume feature. Once it is enable you'll notice sound increase as car speed up on higher speed the engine roars and the same time the volume of system increases/decrease proportionally.

I liked the feature so that u need not to adjust volume everytime and keep ur handle over steering. And, yes ofcourse you can dis-engage the feature if you don't want it. If someone has missed it; enable it and experience it. :)
^^^ Music volume increases with speed, not with respect to external volume. So whether you are driving with windows down or up, it does not matter. Anyways, with windows down, the driver will himself raise the volume up. So when you come to a standstill in traffic, it wont go below the predefined volume set by the driver.

This feature is there in the Punto also. Punto has a sensitivity level which you can adjust.
Yes. This feature is called "Speed Sensing Volume" in Figo. You can set the volume from 0 to 7 as you need. It works with the speed and not with external / internal noise.

In Punto, when you press remote control to open, the cabin light glows.
True in Figo too. In addition, the cabin light gets on when the car is unlocked and stays awake until all doors are closed and ignition is in 2nd position. If not, then the gets off in few seconds with Theater Dimming Effect. BTW, it gets on again when the ignition off (0 position) and stays awake until all doors are closed and locked (manually or remote). If not, then the gets off in few seconds with Theater Dimming Effect.

Yes you are right, by this way you don't need to unlock the car, anyways you can't lock rear passengers inside the car cause every car can be unlocked from inside. On the other hand after closing the rear doors you don't need to lock the car, as the car is in locked state and it'll keep it locked unless front doors are nor opened. It makes you free from hassle of locking/unlocking the car frequently.

Unlock the car with remote, if the doors/boot is unopened, then gets locked automatically with in 45 seconds. One way, it's a safety feature that accidental unlock may be prevented. Secondly, no worries of having the keys inside and get locked.

You may also program your remote either to unlock all doors or just the driver's door. Cool one.

Other Features:
1. The volume of ICE is default by 7. That means, if you switch it off with a volume of 15 and switch it on again, it will start with 7 and won't scare you / others screaming with the previous volume of 15. However, if the previous set volume was less than 7 (say 4 or 5), it will start as it is (4 or 5) and not 7. How cool isn't it?

2. Switch on the ICE while the key is away or in '0' position. The ICE will display as "1 hour". That means, the ICE will be on only for an hour and will get off automatically. Power saving...

3. Switch off the ignition with Headlights on, only the parking lamps will remain to be on and not the headlights. BTW, it will also chime when you open the driver's door.

Are these features really ‘special’? Let’s maintain the quality of this topic and mention the features which are either car specific or exclusive to a particular segment.

Manza diesel

1) The rpm meter doesn't have red (danger) zone marked on it.The white rpm neddle turns bright red whenever it enters the danger zone , also seeks attention.

2) The rear cabin lights/ map reading lights are placed at a place on ceiling which can be reached by all five passengers easily, helpful for driver if left on by rear passengers.
Also useful for driver if he wants to read news paper in fully reclined seat position when the car is parked at night.

3) comes with strong , non attractive (kid proof) semi detachable rubber cap for USB plug.

4) Semi lockable under seat tray for 3 bottles. It is a safty feature probably If anybody inside the car wants to drink water , you have to stop the car and then take out the bottle , then drink. Drinking water in a moving car can be hazardous for respiratory system , also clothes can get wet. There is no bottle holder in car though cup holders are provided.

5) correct size /shape coin store trench, coin removal is easy.

6) lit power window buttons.

7) rear mobile charger on rear parcel tray , which makes picking up the cellphone without lifting up the back every now and then.

some pun intended.
No smoking feature - car doesn't come with OE ash tray.

Rear AC feature without rear vent- Conditioned air from front vents reaches to rear quickly.

I am a fan of my car.
If you are a fan of your car , then car must be feeling cool whenever you enter inside.(no pun intended)

Take it as a compliment.

Did anybody mention that Scorpio Refresh has the following additional features?

  1. Fire retardant
I think fire retardant upholstery is universal now.
My BS2 Wagon R owners mannual mentioned , not to modify, add on upholstery as the OE one is fire resistant IIRC.

Well, actually Tata guys want you to pour water from bottle in glass & then drink. [lol] Best thing to drink water in moving condition is to use straw.[:D]

BTW, one thing which I didn't expect in car like Dzire but is there - Speed sensing door locks. All locks are activated when car hits 20 kmph.
