I would prefer either driving down or travel by Volvo.

In case ride is required, peppy pot is available for covering the distance with 3 others on sharing basis, both & Fuel.

As discussed on 24th meet, if members having UVs (Storme, Aria, Enjoy, Ertiga) can bring on their rides, it is better as each car can 5 or more members and also travelling will safer and quicker.

Yup, we discussed it that day. We felt, UVs will be the ideal one. Any volunteers?

Second option would be Sedans. Anshuman - Can we count in Manza too in that case? That could be the most spacious sedan

As a final option, I don't mind taking my ride too. I once have done Bangalore - Mumbai - Bangalore in just 2 days with 4 people on board. We felt very comfortable, despite the time limit we had.

Sethu Sir - What about Dhaya? Any luck of he getting his Aria?

That should be good option (UV or Sedan) and I would love to share both driving and cost (If allowed for the first one one being shared)

Subbu, yet to talk to him. We were supposed to meet yesterday but could n't due to various reasons.

Bangalore to Pune
Total 12 hours
4 in a car
Total 840 KMs

As 7th falls on Weekdays, I'm not able to take leave from office. That is why, I didn't interpreted the flow.

^^It is march 7th buddy, too far you can take a leave for sure. Apply it now it self. There is a saying in hindi " kuch pane ke liye kuch khona padta hai" in english " To get something you want, you need to sacrify something"

I agree. But, still I can't confirm now. I may confirm by next month.

Who knows, I may take my Vista for the trip

Sethu Annae - Chennai - Bangalore in 6 Hrs is little tough, especially with breaks. I know, you will take a lot The best I have done was 6 1/2 Hrs with very minimal traffic on a weekday. So, keeping about 7 - 8 Hrs is safe.

Again, Bangalore - Pune will take about 12-14 Hrs. When I did Bangalore - Mumbai, I reached Pune in 13-14 Hrs (Full Night Drive). Return will take even more time as some of the stretches weren't as good as onward and few were under construction too. Not sure about the current status though. So, a safe bet is 13-15 Hrs.

More or less right, but 6th evening we may not be able to do anything since we all would have dead tired. But 7th we can do something nicely for sure. Even we can go some nice place in the after noon since the plant tour might be over by 2PM.

@ Figoian : Banglore - Pune should be good around 12-13 hours at cruising speeds of 80-90 km/hr. I have done Banglore- Mumbai couple of times. It has always taken me around 12 - 13 hours on max with two long breaks equalling to 1.5 hrs for breakfast and lunch. I always start from Bangalore early in the morning around 5-5:30 and have always reached Pune by maximum of 6 in the evening.
The drive is going to be awesome the highway is a pleasure to drive but yes once you enter the Maharastra state you might find some patchwork and potholes. Pune city will surely be conjusted so you can calculate another hour or so depending where you;ll will be lodging.

Puneites can confirm how about a small but nice trekking adventure to Singhad hill? Heard that it will not take much time and also on the top, one can see many forts built by Shivaji (like Raigarh etc) along with beautiful view of the western ghats.

Second option is to book a bus(either tempo traveller or a swaraj mazda) from Bangalore and enjoy in a group while driving wont eat your time and you can take some rest.

@ sethu sir just wanted to ask what is the minimum number of people required for the tour to be conducted. As of now we have about 23-24 people on the list with more on the tentative side.

Both are good options. For train someone needs to take organizor roll (collecting cash booking tickers etc) If it is by mini bus what would be the cost from Bangalore? any help?

Minimum is 20 (as per VW site) I think we will get that numbers for sure. I will start PMing today to find other members idea on this.
